They may not actually play the games, just read stories and fanfic, but don't try to argue with them B.2) The Only One I Actually Played: The best game was whichever one they happened to have actually played. This is generally Ocarina, but could be anything. C) The Modern Fan: They may have just gotten into it, but the high point of the series was undoubtedly whichever game was their first, generally Windwaker or Twilight Princess. They love (GAME) and will argue against the (oft-imaginary) haters. C.1) The New One: The entire series has merely been leading up to whichever game was the last one. That one's definitely the best. Sure, every Zelda may be basically the same, but that means every new game is even better than the last. C.2) The Next-To-Last One: Like C.1, except the newest one sucks. I mean, absolutely terrible. The one before that was undoubtedly the best game ever, though. C.3) The Actual Fan: They like most of the games. They may have complaints about parts, and they may have favorites, but overall, they just like any Zelda game. While believed to be the most common, they are somehow one of the rarest ones to encounter. D) The Handheld Fan: They don't "do" consoles. Game Boy 4 Life, yo. They prefer one of the handheld iterations over any of the console ones. D.1) The Classic Handheld: Either Oracles, or Link's Awakening. This is basically the intersection of D and A - 2D handhelds is where it's at. Minish Cap was a pleasant return to form. Four Swords may be liked or disliked, variously. D.2) The New Handheld: Phantom Hourglass and/or Spirit Tracks. Need I say more? E) The Indier-Than-Though: They like one of the obscure games, simply because it's obscure. Zelda 2 is a common favorite. Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland apparently has a cult following in parts of Europe. E.1) The Ironically Ironically Bad: Fans of the CD-i games. Purely theoretical at this point, having never been observed in nature. E.2) The Non-Gamer: Games? Pfft. The Animated Series / Comics is where it's at. Or maybe they're only in it for the music. Or the story. Or the art. Whatever their individual status, the point is, they're favorite game is "none of them".

Fact: I can still get every single star in SM64 from memory. Tested it last year. Grabbed a ROM, beat the entire thing without checking any FAQs, walkthroughs, videos, or even asking any friends. If Hammer worked on this stupid Mac, I'd try to recreate the entire game from memory, and would probably get pretty close.

I sold my Wii forever ago though :(

TP isn't the recent one anymore, there is Spirit Tracks and Skyward Sword.

General consensus so far is that SS sucked. Have not played it myself yet, so I abstain, but it may actually be more than the normal Zelda bitching. Remember, Miyamoto's gone much more hands-off recently with Zelda. The new guys quite likely can't keep up the same standards, not without practice.

I wish Wind Waker was on the DS. Not the 3DS though because that thing is terrible and I don't own it.

i have one of those mario 25th anniversary red wiis. as soon as I got it I put CFW on it and I've never touched it since 2 years ago

I would finally try out a "decent" zelda game, though I gave up when I tried mapping the retarded N64 controller to my Xbox 360 controller. Seriously, who thought that controller was a good idea? I'm playing A Link to the Past on my phone in a GBA emulator, though it seems a bit meh so far.

Phone controls work terribly for actiony games. I tried Link's Awakening, controls were too stiff to play without constant savescumming (especially in boss fights). RPGs work better. I've been playing Pokemon Crystal on mine (legit, even - I still have the cartridge, it's just easier to emulate than to carry my GBC around). I never played Pokemon "seriously". I beat it, yeah, but I never got into the hardcore stuff. I probably have a "terrible" team build, and while I'm intellectually interested in seeing how I stack up against "the pros", I don't really care.

I play Pokemon on my DS occasionally. I only have Mario Kart and Pokemon Platinum. I'd like to get another DS game or two but it's hard to find the good ones with so many crap games on that system.

After playing around with the button mapping on my Wiimote, it's a lot better. The only problem is that it isn't exactly discrete.
