Firefox lags on my current rig. When dual Xeons and 5 gigs of buffered ECC memory can't run two tabs, there's something wrong.
Okay, I looked through the past couple pages, and saw swagology or something like that.
How do you get perma'd after only 7 posts? Posting that cat?
Sorry, she's my best friend/stalker. She wanted to get banned.

It's telling us to move to Itaniums!
I wouldn't have minded her staying around the forums. Comic relief

She's funny as fuck, but others wouldn't have liked her and she would've ended up banned anyways.

Answer me this:
Can an Itanium run Crysis? Even on low?
(Pro-tip: no. It can't.)

Only because you'd be emulating IA-32. Give a proper IA64 build of it and you'll have tukwilla blitzing it. (Even though tukwilla is fucking shitty)
makol health update:
I think I died in my sleep and my brain has yet to recover

Oh, and is there an Itanium that costs less than $900?
Answer: No. The cheapest, the dual-core 9310, costs $946 (probably a bit less, now, since that was the release price, but you're still looking at more for a processor than for an entire x86 rig). The cheapest quad-core model will run you $1600+.

We should all move to Itanium, more supply and demand and buying power means lower costs.
You're just jealous of my Itanic Madison server.

Use that if you're having troubles running firefox. Hell, that might even be useable in x86 a virtual machine under Android.
[sp]I didn't say anything about speed[/sp]
I used to love using firefox. I can't use it anymore after chrome. Being able to type "face" and enter and go to a website is fucking awesome.

It's not *that* slow. It's mostly that after a day or so, I need to restart it to keep it from getting weird on some pages.
Honestly, Chrome has been utter shit in comparison to older versions (< 10). It's really lost the stability and speed it had and I keep getting massive memory leaks on sites that heavily use javascript. I've been tempted to go back to FF, but it doesn't seem much better.

I use both Firefox and Chrome on a daily basis. On Chrome, I just enter. On Firefox, I press down then enter. There's no difference other than pressing one less key.

And IE (and Safari, I think) has Shift-Enter.
Although Firefox really ought to add at least Shift+Enter for compatibility, since so many other shortcuts are common to all browsers.
Chrome and Opera 12 Alpha here. I use Chrome when I'm gaming though, Opera drops my framerate significantly; only the hardware accelerated alpha does, 11.6x is fine.

let's all fall back to chromium :v:
Am I the only one that looks for obscure filesharing/link sharing/etc. sites that are full of obnoxious full-screen ads, just to see how long it takes to get the real content out of the site by poking with Chrome dev tools?
Tinypaste.com took me like a minute, could have been faster.
Fuuuuuuck.
I can't find Visual Studio 2005 anywhere. And I can only use that because it's what our school uses, all my attempts to use later versions failed.

I just use the Omnibar addon for Firefox.
Also, I've tried multiple times to transition to Chrome but I still can't get over the way Chrome's alternative to Noscript functions. I just don't like it.
In any case, I never get any speed problems or glitches or memory leaks on any modern browser I've tried. I still have no idea why.

It's probably because I'm the only one here who doesn't keep his computer on for weeks at a time.
Reinstalled realtek drivers. Switched back to Coaxial.
BF3 usually is the thing that causes the coaxial to go to major noise fest. But now I'm enjoying some Indie-Game-Music bundle tracks in ALAC.
Is a sound card something worth investing money into?
if you need the options it has.
But a good DAC should give you all the spatial advantage you need. I felt like my whole mind was expanded after using this DAC.

Also this song is fucking amazing:

Would a DAC or new sound card be better than getting new headphones?
Right now I have these

and
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104319 (mostly used with my laptop)
Oh god please buy new headphones. Refer to the headphone buying guide...
They were free :v:
Got the Plantronics one from my mom since the place she works has a partnership with them for headphones. The Logitech one is actually a reviewer sample I got from a friend's mom after she did a review for it and she was told she could keep it.
My 6870s are only artifacting in WoW and Skyrim.
Weird.
I better not have to RMA these cards.
ffs
Actually I'm having the same problem with the same card.
Did you buy sapphire around January?
I bought two XFX 6870s forever ago.
Mabye it's the drivers, then.
You're very late to reply to that post anyway.
It was the 12.2 drivers that was causing problems.
