I downgraded to 12.1 which really isn't much better. I am using 8xAA though
Don't. 8xMSAA in Skyrim is horribly unoptimized, and tests done by several people including Nvidia have shown that the picture quality difference between 4x and 8x is negligible for a nearly 25% performance difference.
Thank you. Added to list. Just keep throwing out ideas
I want to throw out that Fraps is still useful for its benchmark tools. [editline]25th March 2012[/editline]
4x vs 8x really depends on the game in my experience.
You're right. Which is why I specifically mentioned "In Skyrim..."
ding dong the witch is dead
Pepper;35290974']Nobody fucking cares.
It pisses me right the fuck off too.
You're right. Which is why I specifically mentioned "In Skyrim..."
Oh, my bad.
My favorite quote goes as follows: "What's that little arrow in front of everything for?" "Oh, you stick it in front of things that you don't want to be funny." [editline]25th March 2012[/editline] Here's that Nvidia article by the way. This was at launch though, updates may have changed shit. I might run some tests when I'm not busy. A little thing I just thought about, Calibri looks great at small font sizes, but looks like absolute shit in large sizes.
Anyone got any idea for cases with good airflow? People keep recommending me stuff like Antec 900's.
Anyone got any idea for cases with good airflow? People keep recommending me stuff like Antec 900's.
I have the 900. Don't waste your time with it. It's cramped, the cable management sucks, and the features are behind the current competition. I'm hoping to buy the Cooler Master Storm Trooper to replace it.
The Storm Trooper is one weird looking case imo.
The Storm Trooper is one weird looking case imo.
It's definitely no Lian-Li but if you like the HAF series style of case design you'll like the trooper.
I like the HAF series, but not the Trooper.
You guys use Dxtory right? [editline]25th March 2012[/editline] -snip- fixed it, just had to turn on compression and limit the video size to 1280x720, still have the problem with premiere pro though...
the levels of stupidity are off the charts [editline]25th March 2012[/editline] no, the reason you crashed is because you're running norton you fuckwit!
Norton just fucking die already. My 80 year old neighbour was conned into buying 2 years of Norton by some prick at Currys, I've just had to de-crap her laptop with MSE, and Norton bitched at me about MSE running while I was doing it.
as long as they have multi million dollar ad campaigns running as opposed to other AVs which don't advertise they're gonna be dominant
Fingers crossed windows 8 pops up an alert on the first run welcome screen. "Windows 8 is kept completely secure by Microsoft Security Essentials, the days of buying anti-virus protection are over!"
Windows 8 has Windows Defender, which is basically MSE now. ninja'd
the levels of stupidity are off the charts
They forgot mentioning common sense and a good virus scanner (MSE/Avast) are free. Oh wait that's the whole point of marketing, making people believe stupid shit.
I fucking hate Norton. Some years back my mum bought a laptop with bloated with bullshit software from the vendor. I tried to uninstall everything... When I restarted the laptop guess what program was back and prompting every restart that it needs to be activated and the 30 day trial period was over and that I should register an account and that it would not update the virus definition. That fucking thing re installed itself after every restart... The most stubborn adware I have ever seen.
Haven't had that happen. I just uninstalled it and deleted the registry key.
The Norton Removal Tool works fairly well.
The Norton Removal Tool works fairly well.
As far as you think
Get on BF3 people

it takes like 2 minutes to remove every trace of norton how bad at computers could you people possibly be

"Hey, let's pull out fake statistics out of our arses and scare customers into buying our products!"
If a computer ever has Norton installed on it, said computer must be burned. so pretty much buying a computer with Norton preinstalled is a waste of money
uhhh you know most of the time oems are paid to install norton/norton trials. [editline]25th March 2012[/editline] that and other bloatware usually covers the Windows OEM license costs.
Fingers crossed windows 8 pops up an alert on the first run welcome screen. "Windows 8 is kept completely secure by Microsoft Security Essentials, the days of buying anti-virus protection are over!"
MSE isn't the best either, in terms of protection offered and performance impact you'd probably be better off with Avast! or Avira.
