I haven't played BF3 in ages, mostly because of the HDD in this computer, it's way too slow somehow. I've got an i5 2500k, a gtx 460 and 4gb ram, but I can barely play it on medium.
I have a Q6600, GTX 460 and 4 gigs of DDR2 and I can play it on Ultra with 30-50 FPS depending on the map.
I have a Q6600, GTX 460 and 4 gigs of DDR2 and I can play it on Ultra with 30-50 FPS depending on the map.
I've got Q6600, GTX 460 and 4GB DDR2 too. Last time I tried Ultra I got 10-15 FPS and then my game crashed.
ESD bags - Amazon. Jiffy Bags - Your local supermarket or amazon. Then just get a box from somewhere.
Hmm... I was about to say "that's probably a bit pricy, I won't make my money back", but then I checked eBay. C2D processor: $40 2x2GB DDR2M: $40 MXM GeForce 9600: $150 Keyboard: $20 LCD: New ones are $100+, so I could probably get $50 Add in some chump change from the touchpad, the wifi adapter, the case and fans and shit, I could probably make $300 profit off this.

Also, I'm using a 768MB one, so I have to have the textures on high, which could make a slight difference.
So, my mother told me to think about a graduation gift. I'm a bit stumped... -I could upgrade my motherboard, cpu and ram (Currently: Q8400, 4 GB of DDR2 and a GTX 560) though all of my games except for GTA IV run well. -My 19" Dell monitor works fine, though the colours are a bit lame compared to my phone's LCD, so a Dell U2412M would be nice. -A tablet would be useful, though I'm not sure how much I would use it since I own a Kindle and a laptop. The iPad 3 looks pretty appealing with the 2048x1536 screen and better quality apps, though an Asus Transformer Prime would allow me to use the apps that I've already bought for my phone. -I could get a new, inexpensive laptop like the HP DM1, which will be replacing my current Asus 1201T (Single core 1.6 GHz Athlon Neo, 2 GB RAM, 320 GB HDD, Radeon HD 3200). The main thing that I like about that laptop is the better battery life and performance without being too large. I'm fairly content with my current setup. My computer is fine spec-wise for at least a few more years. I have a mechanical keyboard, good headphones and decent speakers. My Nexus S does everything I need it to and my D3100 + kit lens + 55-200mm zoom lens work in nearly every situation I use it for. Any suggestions?
Question: I'm thinking of selling off the parts from my now-deceased laptop. The mobo's fried, but there's plenty of other, functional, parts. Like the CPU. Problem is, I don't exactly have a box or anything that's safe to put a CPU in and ship it halfway across the country. Hell, I don't even have any anti-static bags. So where's a good, cheap place to buy stuff like that?
http://www.amazon.com/Antistatic-Bags-Resealable-6X10-Pack/dp/B000BSN274 Couldn't find bubble wrap bags.
Can you or anyone help me with this? [t]http://i.imgur.com/cYpnH.png[/t] How much should I raise the clocks?
Do it in 10's or 20's and run fur mark for 2 minutes till it crashes, then go to the number before that and run it for 15 minutes.
Can you or anyone help me with this? [t]http://i.imgur.com/cYpnH.png[/t] How much should I raise the clocks?
Go up to 800 and then start in increments of 10, running Furmark for a couple of mins till it crashes.
Any suggestions?
Your setup isn't that bad at all, but if you would rather be safer for the future, I would upgrade. Anyways, if you don't upgrade your specs, get a new monitor.
Where in Bristol do you live?
Portishead.
Okay guys, I'm going to sell this shit box on craigslist because it makes me want to gouge my eyes out with a hot spoon and I've had enough of it. But to do so I'd like to keep my semi-decent 5770. I want to buy a cheap gpu on newegg that is decent enough to run source games. What would you recommend?
So is there any free software to turn a Tablet into a 3rd monitor, or are you just going to rate me dumb again?

Also I think that I might have killed my 460. Not sure yet.

I've never had a problem with this OC (other than furmark causing it to overheat :v:)
An SSD? A new case? Some headphones? A nice mechanical keyboard?
As I said in the post, I have a mechanical keyboard (Standard Blackwidow) and good headphones (Audio Technica ATH-M50). I'll take a look at SSDs.
What? A 5770 is a GPU. Also I think that I might have killed my 460. Not sure yet.
Learn to read. I'm keeping my 5770 for my new computer and buying a cheap card to sell in my current pc.
