I've never had to roll back drivers. I just update and never get any problems. The luck of the ignorant.
I've never rolled back either
I just upgrade when I absolutely have to, which is usually when a new release is broken

I know. Skyrim was working perfectly fine on 12.2, and now its broken.
Someone was having trouble with some 486 systems. They were dropping like flies.
He's now down to one last working taiwan clone board and I finally ask if he's sure the POST card is telling him the systems are not hitting the BIOS POST test and he tells me he can't test that.
I asked him what he meant.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
He's be swapping the chips between boards. In the process he was cramming incompatible chips onto boards and nuking the EPROMs.
:saddowns:
How could you be that careless with vintage hardware?!?
Deal Extreme is actually getting better. My last order only took a week.
I ordered something two months ago, no sign of it since. It's either been dropped or will show up any moment. :v:
I am never asking my networking teacher a question, ever again.
So, at work, I need to figure out how to set up a quick VPN so a particular server will work while demoing it at a convention. Since I'm not much of a networking guy, I figured I'd ask one of the networking teachers.
Basic gist of the issue is, Server 1 needs to be able to send Server 2 an HTTP POST, even though Server 2 will be behind NAT, and we won't have access to the router at the convention center to forward a port. I *should* be able to just install a VPN server on Server 1, have 2 sign on to the VPN, and have everything work.
It took about an hour and a half before he actually understood a) what I just told you, and b) what the problem was.
His first reaction was to try to teach me to set up a VPN server on a router. Then he tried telling me how NAT works, getting quite a bit wrong. Then he told me how to set up port forwarding. Then he somehow wanted to set up a VPN server on the wrong server (Server 2). THEN he wanted to something something VIRTUAL MACHINE. THEN he started outlining some fucked-up system based off LogMeIn that made absolutely zero sense.
And to top it all off, once he understood what I wanted, he told me to just google it.
Am I the only one that doesn't like Lian-Li cases?
I think their ugly as shit
What do you mean? Look at their little m-atx series cases like the PC-9F, they're quite nice looking.

No that, is a shapeless, ugly, colorless piece of shit.

So all you had to do was forward port 80 to server 2?

Its a computer case, not a painting, its function is to keep your hardware together and cool while being unobtrusive and tidy. I think it looks great.
No that, is a shapeless, ugly, colorless piece of shit.
Sure it's colourless, but I wouldn't say it's shapeless or ugly. In fact, it fits quite nicely under the illusion of efficiency, and it sure is 100x better than half of the blue-led + EXTREME TANK GAMER ULTRA boxes that a lot of other companies put out.
I know. Skyrim was working perfectly fine on 12.2, and now its broken.
It never worked on 12.2, which is why 12.3 was made as a fix.
Well I don't like to have my case out of sight, I like mine in a predominant position.
I wouldn't want to rely on EA Support, though. The only time I had to contact EA support, it was tedious. They just seem to fail to understand what you want.
I don't get the EA Support bashing, Been in contact with them 3 times (2 times BF:BC2 and one ME3) and all of those times it took me 5 min tops

As I said I don't want that either. And considering its a box, its pretty shapeless.
So all you had to do was forward port 80 to server 2?
For our current setup, yeah. Problem is, we'll be demonstrating the product at a convention soon. Server 2 will be there (it has to be - it connects to some proprietary peripherals). Server 1 will still be hosted at whatever company we have hosting it. And we're not going to be able to log in to the convention center router and open a port. So, VPN.
As I said I don't want that either. And considering its a box, its pretty colourless.
Well, Lian-Li is all about no-nonsense, totally functionality-bound cases. I'm sure if you really wanted, you could buy one of their dull, lifeless boxes, chemical strip and wet sand the powder coat, then repaint with whatever colour you so desire.
[editline].[/editline]
Before my 650D (the epitome of colourless boxes), my computer was built inside a- are you ready -RAIDMAX TORNADO. That case was the worst piece of trash, even for the ~$40 range, it was b a d. I hope from that alone you can understand my bias toward lifeless boxes of functional efficiency.

I've never set one up before, but am I right in thinking it works like a SSH tunnel?
I'll admit, I'm REALLY picky with my cases.
The only one I like is the HAF 912+ atm, with Cool Master Red LED fans all round, although only the front one is needed TBH. If I had better cable management with some bitfenix alchemy cables, and the side window panel, it would be perfect.

I went from an Antec 300 to a NZXT Lexa S (lmao), to a HAF 912, and now I have a HAF-X.
My brother now uses my old Lexa S, Killowatt is getting my 912, and my old roommate has my Antec 300 which I gave to him when I moved out.

Not that the HAF 912/+ are bad, I was even going to get one before I found the 650D, but the overall aesthetic design is exactly what I mean when I say "ultra gamer xtremee". It's front is a big chunk of injection-molded 'look-cool' plastic. :v:
[editline].[/editline]
Maybe I'm being the picky one, it's just that I prefer things not to have bits and pieces hanging off every which way. I'm perfectly content with my case being a monolithic black box with no real defining features whatsoever.

.. what
there are way worse cases, the HAFs are more of a mix

Too mainstream, 0/10, would not buy.
Just got the new parts for my lilbro's computer. I thought that the old motherboard was simply broken, and that the PSU was fine. Seems like I was wrong. The PSU is working, but it doesn't always want to turn on, whereas my enermax did it flawlessly. I checked in the BIOS and the CPU seemed to be at ~1V with the old PSU, and 1.24V with the enermax. Might be that the CPU didn't get the required Voltage, but I honestly never looked into how low a voltage a CPU can run at. It's an i3 2100, if it helps.

makol the front bezel looks like gear teeth
[editline].[/editline]
That's well within the range of acceptible 'look-cool' additions, though. At least it's nothing like some of Lian-Li's real rice-boxes (like the Armorsuit PC-P80R).
