So, that was interesting. Not related to IT in anyway, but you'll all get a kick out of it.
My dog was outside and I heard a loud bang, so I grabbed a metal pipe from near my door and went outside. Dog is barking her head off and I smell a car running rich. Jog down my drive way in time to see a truck do a 180 in the parking lot at the end of the road and come flying back up the road. I couldn't see in the cab but I could hear someone getting hit and them yelling the entire way up the road. Brought my dog inside, got my mom, hopped in my step dads barely running suburban and took off after em.
Found the truck, didnt find the people. Looped around the block and I thought my emergency break was on, so I slammed down on it to see if it would release. NOPE. Not like the one in my moms van where if you push it down past lock it releases, so I had to throw it into park, with a car pulling up behind me, open the door, reach under the dash and release it. Took off and let the momentum close the door for me and then circled again. Got the license plate and noted that there were 3 people out walking.
I felt like a cop :v:

BRT, how is the 3TB drives doing you so far, I plan on ordering one of those to backup my data on my 3TB greens and 1.5TB greens. How's heat as well?
So far they have been great. Actually seem to be quieter than my dual 640 blues.
They are warm to the touch, about as warm as my greens. During idle I will sometimes hear a tick like a drive head is seeking over the whole disk and back. But I'm not sure if it's my green. I ran smart DATA checks on all drives and no issues were seen. So I don't know.
But that never happens when I'm recording or defragging.

The ticks might be the heads parking themselves, I might be wrong though. But alright, I'll consider picking up a few. only 165 on amazon :) It's just the 2 year warranty GAHH
It happens 2-3 times per day, but like I said it's when the system is dead idle.
As far as the warranty goes, yea 2 year is kind of annoying but I was willing to go for it for the value it had. 66bucks per TB at like 160mb/s per disk is still nice.

If I use a coaxial cable splitter to extend my cable will it slow down my connection?
Because thats the only thing I had and my connection seems to be terrible since then and I am not sure if thats because of a cheap cable or the splitter

It might introduce packet loss. You could always test for it afterwards. usually though it will simply cut out if the signal is too low.

splitters will kill your connection

you'll get tons of packet collisions and bad signal degradation if there isn't a repeater like 2 feet from the splitter on both sides

Are there any applications which block the websites from a specified list by a press of a button? I just can't do any work when I have my computer on, I start browsing random websites and do pointless things.

I have a green and it does the same thing, did it out of the box
