Well, AdBlock for Chrome has a pretty nice April Fool's joke. [sp]It shows cats instead of ads.[/sp]

why is everyone doing April Fools now it's March 31 [editline]31st March 2012[/editline] wait are you guys all on the eastern hemisphere?
why is everyone doing April Fools now it's March 31 [editline]31st March 2012[/editline] wait are you guys all on the eastern hemisphere?
I am. I'm in Sydney and it's 8:20AM on April 1st.
x86 instructions aren't fixed-length at 32-bit, and ones that can take immediates can be way, way more. 8-socket x86 is a joke (no directory cache) and the high-end server market isn't going away. It's awfully hard to compete with 32 sockets of cache-coherent shared memory with a cluster.
Someone who finally knows what the fuck they're talking about. Man, I'm going to have to fly both you and wingless over for the project I'm working on then :/ SOO MUCH MONEY, BUT SO MUCH POTENTIAL.
April 1st here, just barely, but it's April 1st.
I've always wondered, but can anybody explain to me why the Nvidia Quadro cards are incredibly expensive?
I've always wondered, but can anybody explain to me why the Nvidia Quadro cards are incredibly expensive?
They are workstation cards iirc.
I've always wondered, but can anybody explain to me why the Nvidia Quadro cards are incredibly expensive?
Because they can. They sell them mainly to corporate users. $1,000 for a video card isn't really all that much when they're paying a guy $60,000+ a year to use it. And companies pay it. On a related note, I was checking the Apple Store to see what my options are for upgrading the graphics card on this. The best one that's roughly compatible with my machine is the 5770 (VGA out won't work, but DVI will). On the Apple site, it's $249.99 On NewEgg, it's $109.99 to $114.99, going down to $89.99 if you actually fill out the rebate shit. Yeah, no thanks, Apple.
My friend ( who is computer literate) actually believed that the google maps nes is legit
My friend ( who is computer literate) actually believed that the google maps nes is legit
If they did that they can have all of my money as long as an FC->NES adapter is included.
Aren't workstation cards overpriced because of the manufacturing costs of the vram on them? or is it something entirely different making me look stupid
Where I work we always have retarded customers requesting workstation cards as opposed to a decent graphics card because they think it will make their google sketchup and 3DS Max programs run quicker...
Where I work we always have retarded customers requesting workstation cards as opposed to a decent graphics card because they think it will make their google sketchup and 3DS Max programs run quicker...
They are made for programs such as Autocad, Maya, 3DS Max, and the like. Those customers aren't retarded.
Just today I realized of using a vacuum hose to clean dust collectors rather than taking it apart 3 ways just to remove it. :v:
Google music uploader hates me for some reason
They are made for programs such as Autocad, Maya, 3DS Max, and the like. Those customers aren't retarded.
They don't seem to realize that a standard desktop card will do the job just as good.
They don't seem to realize that a standard desktop card will do the job just as good.
Oh. I see what you mean. I guess they are retarded.
Finally we're making progress. 2x Intel 180GB SSD's, Trimed not secured erase after mistakenly doing 180GB worth of writes to each drive. It's connected to the onboard C204/X79 chipset, doing software/windows RAID-0 Stripes. Performing decent now. Will secure erase, do onboard chipset raid, then try it on the fucking LSI controller again.
One day, I will have a job that pays a decent wage. On that day, I will build a computer so ridiculous, NSA will be jealous.
what the fucking christ, why does my friend have an i7 2600 aaaa (he doesn't do anything besides gaming and socialising) sorry this just blows my mind, who would buy one of those for what he does. It's just so fucking overpowered.
what the fucking christ, why does my friend have an i7 2600 aaaa (he doesn't do anything besides gaming and socialising) sorry this just blows my mind, who would buy one of those for what he does.
Being overkill isn't bad. I have an i7 920, and I know that's not like overkill but all I do is play CS:S and minecraft.
It is too bad, it meanas you wasted money on something you'll never use the potential of. That being said, I own a core i7 920 (first gen, woo) as well but I often end up hosting servers as I play games on it :v:
It's his money. If he enjoys the computer, the money wasn't wasted.
It is too bad, it meanas you wasted money on something you'll never use the potential of. Also, I used to play Crysis 2 and BFBC2 on this computer, I will play BF3 once I get a new HDD, so I don't just use my i7 for Minecraft and CS:S.

If you want good stock firmware, why don't you buy a freaking Iphone?
But that waste of money means you won't have to upgrade as soon as you would with something that wasn't overkill, Sometimes.
true I guess I dunno, it just sent me reeling when he told me about it he also has a 550ti and 10GB of RAM, apparently. buh. [editline]31st March 2012[/editline]
I have the same feeling when someone buys an android device and never installs a custom ROM on it.
I have the same feeling when someone buys an android device and never installs a custom ROM on it. If you want good stock firmware, why don't you buy a freaking Iphone?
I can see your reasoning, but the benefits of Android don't require a custom ROM.
