Whereas Wooops and altern had theirs fixed pretty quickly. So I just count my blessings, translate the thing and hope a patch won't come anytime soon

I installed drivers for an nVidia Geforce 8800 GTX. I have an nVidia Geforce GTX 465 (according to speccy and FreshDiagnose)
Is the 465 more powerful?
Will my machine break if I keep using it with these drivers?

Nvidia's drivers are made to work on all of their cards. Their releases cover the 6000GT range all the way to the GTX 500 cards. I believe the recent GTX 680 has its own driver at the moment.

A Message From Valve's Gabe Newell
Gabe Newell of Valve, the company behind Steam and the Source Engine, has allegedly sent over a message to Phoronix.

As mentioned on Twitter yesterday afternoon, he allegedly sent over an email. I expressed caution as he's not the one I normally deal with regarding Linux gaming matters, so I'm still waiting on official confirmation, but here's his email below.

That's not downsampled. "Converting to 24fps" while keeping the speed would be downsampling.

My Dell U3011 did this for the buttons. The lights on the side would light up when my hand got close. I could see it being done in a touch screen.

One of the main issues with Linux drivers is that Linux is largely considered a "secondary" platform, seeing as quite a lot of stuff, especially games, specifically target Windows and DirectX and hence partially also because Linux only supports OpenGL in the first place.
