probably just a manufacturer that designed really bad motherboards which wouldn't post after short-term use? :v:

What make & model is it?
That reminds me, during my little motherboard chop yesterday, I found an Abit mobo in the box I store old mobos in (none are usable, all of them scavenged / given to me).
I lifted it at a corner, wanted to take it to the workbench - I could only put down the corner of it on the bench. The rest actually broke off it while I hurled it to the bench (0,3m distance).
Talk about quality PCB materials.

Asus K53TA-BBR6
Packs enough power to run even BF3 at medium settings

ASUS is one of, if not the best manafactuer of anything it makes.
Last time I checked their laptops have the lowest failure rate aswell over 3 years.

I'm actually wanting to make that, but I gonna dig up a old 30 pin SIMM first

It would be hilarious if someone asked to use your computer......

My Asus laptop lasted slightly over three years. And it was a graceful failure - no data loss, all resellable parts intact (which reminds me, I need to list that shit on Ebay). All that failed was the mobo (power port fried, even replacing the port didn't fix it). I didn't even notice it happened until the low battery light came on.
I'm actually waiting for Asus to release new laptops - I *really* want a G74, but they've already discontinued all the Sandy Bridge ones. Since Ivy Bridge hits on Monday, I'm *hoping* Asus already has their new laptops ready.
it hits monday? where did you hear this?
No money D:

G74s get REALLY hot from what I've heard.
That's why I went with a G53.

Quite a few places.
I'm also seeing April 29th as a common date, though, which worries me.
does anyone know of decent, third-party OpenGL drivers for AMD videocards?
everyone knows AMD skimps on OpenGL support, so i'm wondering if someone put forth the effort to help resolve this
unless if the latest build of drivers from AMD helps to fix this
current GPU is 6770

The Asus Padfone is supposed to hit in April as well. Their transformer tablets, from what I've seen, are very high quality pieces of hardware. It will be interesting to watch it at launch.
I haven't had my laptop for more than an hour and I've already flashed the BIOS
lol
I haven't had my laptop for more than an hour and I've already flashed the BIOS

Why?
fuck sakes
i can't even remove the psu dust filter from my 600t, not sure if it's locked into place or something
I haven't had my laptop for more than an hour and I've already flashed the BIOS

isn't it best to approach the BIOS with an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality
unless if you're going to do something major to it
there's bad color banding issues with older revisions of the BIOS
we don't want that
[editline]3rd April 2012[/editline]
but now I have all the essential ASUS utilities installed, my color banding fixed, and chrome and an antivirus installed
I just need steam and a couple games to test its power, but not on work bandwidth

That's why I keep several games on my external hard-drive :v:
I really need to back up my games. 160 of them, if my HDD fails I will have to download them all again.
I'm being sworn into a bonafide honors society this month, it's exciting. I never thought I would ever be in any honors society ever.

All the ones reporting the 29th are more recent articles than the ones saying the 8th. So It looks like it may be on the 29th after all.
Also someone please explain the abit joke
abit boards were the first to support overclocking
they were also the first that damn near everyone who bought them managed to fry within a week
Didn't they use most of the original physics, actor, etc code for the remake, and use Reach's current engine for the graphics?
Right. Its mostly the same engine just slightly modified for the new graphics (and probably more 360 friendly). Other than that, they didn't change anything.

Oooooohhhh. I stopped following the release date. Fucking finally. You seen the benchmarks on the 3770k? I beats the 3960x in most games and hits even or just below in other benches. You're getting the performance of a $1k proc for $20 more than a 2700k.

pshkkk
just copy and paste the directories from my computer
let steam figure out registry settings and then I'm golden

that's pretty much exactly what I do. Works pretty well most of the time.
hmm
transferring through wifi is taking quite awhile
schucks
time to dig out ye olde flash drive
[editline]3rd April 2012[/editline]
unless it's possible to just plug them into each other with an ethernet cable
