Was at my grandma yesterday for easter, and also to help her set up her new laptop. Her old one had some piece of plastic under the power button break. Could have been fixed by popping open the case on top, but it was already having issues so she decided to get a new one instead. Fair enough, The old laptop was almost pre XP old anyway. I gave her some tips and some store recommendations. That was 3 weeks ago. When i get down there i see a really good looking Acer laptop. After a quick glance at the stickers i see that it has an i5 and dedicated GPU. The fuck. Looked it up and it can run goddamn BF3 on low. She uses it for word Turns out that instead of going to one of the non "get this overpowered laptop and give us your money" stores that i reccomended, She went to Expert which is in the sell you unneeded shit store Sigh. Oh, and since it was preinstalled with Win7, It was filled to the brim with bloatware [B]sight[/B] Had to leave to catch the train after i saw that but shit it annoys me that stores does that. She told me that she had asked "I need a laptop for doing word and exel, and looking at my mail. I just want it to be light and have a good battery time" So they sold her a $800 Acer when a $400 anything would have been enough for her. Hell, i could have bought her one of the laptops our school gives us (we can buy them when we leave the school this summer) for like $30 /end rant

My neighbour has done the exact opposite, she has a 1.8Ghz single core celery Toshiba laptop, the battery life is excellent but my god does it crawl. It can't handle smooth HD video playback either.
