"Stuck"? Don't you mean PART OF THE SUPERIOR LINUX MASTER RACE (This is irony god dammit)
Don't get me wrong, I love my Arch Linux install :v: I just miss playing games..which is more of a fault of the shitty hardware of this laptop than Linux. The newest game I can play smoothly is probably Quake 3.
I'm stuck on my laptop until graduation. As such, I'm stuck using Linux. SpaceSniffer is Windows only. So..yeah. I'm using Baobab to look at my disk usage right now.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/kdirstat/#item3rd-1 Have fun!
http://sourceforge.net/projects/kdirstat/#item3rd-1 Have fun!
but then I'll have to download the KDE libs and shit D:
Wait, all the window managers for Linux don't have one standard API to talk to applications through? That seems slightly backwards.
but then I'll have to download the KDE libs and shit D:
Chances are you probably had to from something else anyway.
Space sniffer is an amazing tool.
You got me to download this, and I discovered that ~16GB (I'm on a 60GB SSD) of The Witcher 2 files had hidden themselves in some obscure Steam folder, with no indication that they should've been there. Thanks a fucking lot.
Wait, all the window managers for Linux don't have one standard API to talk to applications through? That seems slightly backwards.
actually most (if not all) of them do, using dbus or something along those lines the problem is toolkits and various libraries.. and yes, I already had qt and the kdelibs installed from something else so its not that big of a deal. Still, I wish there wasn't so many different toolkits and random libs for Linux applications, christ. I have GTK, GTK2, and GTK3 installed, along with the EFL, and QT3, QT4, and a bunch of the base KDE libraries. Oh, and a bunch of the base gnome libs too. And obviously I can't remove this shit because some random application or a library for another application uses these and GAH.

Good thing all they really consume is storage space, doesn't really hurt having everything installed.

Because if I didn't install both manually, trying to run anything was a pain in the ass. Ubuntu is bad at defining what packages certain things depend on.

And are a horrible pack rat that never wants to delete anything in fear that you'll use it soon (and never do)

Every toolkit I have installed combined is like 1GB, and that's nothing on modern hard drives. If you're really short on hard-drive space you could just have GTK+ 3 and QT4, both together are like 300mb. I've still got a 10GB hard drive in by BSD box. Contains the full OS, a couple servers, basic desktop tools (WindowMaker, Firefox, Abiword), and my old porn collection. I actually have the kit to set up a two-disk 10GB RAID, plus another 120GB disk, I just can't be assed to install it.
One of the many reasons why I stopped using Linux as much.
In reality you only need GTK2, GTK3 and QT4, though. And frankly, a lot of the time you might find you have them on Windows as well. Several instances of them. Which is terrible. [editline]9th April 2012[/editline] Well, not sure about GTK3 since mostly only GNOME 3 uses it at the moment I believe?
I ran Mint off a 8Gb SD card for a while. Since i basically used it for browsing and generally screwing around with it i never really needed more Half the point of using it was to see if it actually could work decently. It did

[editline]9th April 2012[/editline] Well, not sure about GTK3 since mostly only GNOME 3 uses it at the moment I believe?
as far as I've been able to tell, Qt-using programs just stick the DLLs in with the application, and GTK-using programs require you to actually run the GTK installer (though some like Pidgin run it automatically). Last I checked you could stick DLLs in C:\Windows and any program on that system would be able to use it, but I could be wrong.

Amazon why you no take my money They still haven't charged for my order. They'll probably do it tomorrow...
Amazon why you no take my money They still haven't charged for my order. They'll probably do it tomorrow...
Its sunday...I'm pretty sure orders and stuff aren't processed on sundays.
Its sunday...I'm pretty sure orders and stuff aren't processed on sundays.
I don't see why they couldn't charge me for my order on a Sunday, it's all automated up until Mr. Steve either has to find the crap in the warehouse or Mr. Jack at third-party supplier gets the order from Amazon and he has to find the crap in their warehouse. I ordered from .co.uk, do most people in the UK have Monday off, because here in Finland, most people sure do, including me.
I'm in the same position, Deciding between phones. I have to say, The bragging right of a Quad Core phone would not be bad :v:
I love how several people i know own a dual core phone/tablet but their PC is a run of the mill HP/compaq or dell with a celeron. Also i want to play with my G15 some, what are some good applets for the LCD?
-not my best judgement-

A lot of applets only work with the first gen G15 though, if yours is the second gen orange like mine there's not a lot of community support.
I really need to learn python. I'm suck to death of web related stuff. Something openGL'y would be interesting...
