It's slow to compress and extract and LZMA has had better compression ratio since forever, and LZMA2 even supports use of 8 threads for decompression. And to top it all, rar is proprietary and it doesn't respect my [url=http://farm1.staticflickr.com/98/236753244_fd9f6008f1.jpg][i]software rights[/I][/url]

I don't use RAR, but I installed it for the comparison.
