Ok, an Xbox360 controller uses wifi, and there is 15 legal channels of wifi. Why isn't there a way to use a Wifi dongle and use that to connect the controller up? Or at least, a cheaper chinese alternative.

According to the interwebs, the Xbox 360 controllers use a 2.4 ghz signal. So why hasn't someone figured out how to take a old wifi dongle, mess about with it, then use that to conect the controller up? Edit; And as I said, over the entire world, there are 15 channels afaik. Sure, it will most likely use a weird variation of it, but I'm pretty sure there would be a way to create it.

It just seems rediculous that you need to buy a $15 reciever, when you could get a wifi dongle for $5 which would also be far smaller. Why are all usb hubs lightweight ugly plastic shit. I would like a heavy metal one that looks nice and doesnt move around.
