What's the matter with the installer?
Ehh, from my fairly limited linux knowlege, when its identifying all the stuff connected, it stops at a sata device.
I'll give you the full error when I get to my PC from work.

Gods dammit.
Ivy Bridge is fucking awesome. I really expected a die shrink with a slight performance increase.
BUT THAT THING OUTPERFORMS THE 2600K AT PCMARK 7.
[editline]18th April 2012[/editline]
But not at Passmark, Close though. 1.8k off.

I can't wait to purchase a new laptop at the end of the summer.
Though at the cost they will come out at getting a sport bike will have to be delayed a few months.

Where does it beat the i7 2600K? I only see laptops in that test. Granted, it's fast as tits, but I don't see the 2600K.

I googled other results and compared to them.
I also learned not to trust PCMark.

Doesn't it factor in other aspects too? The laptop is using an SSD, too.

Of course, I only compared the CPU score on passmark.
Wow, that Pebble watch that got posted a few pages back is now the most funded Kickstarter ever.
3500000$ over their goal with 31 days to go is rather amazing.

I killed a motherboard, with the manufacturers OWN image flashing program.
Was it Gigabyte? This does seem loke a pretty shitty-ass motherboard.
I bought a damn SATA3 hard drive and have to use it in SATA2 mode because apparently my motherboard supports it but hell if I can figure out how to get it to work.

How did you know?
It was one of their £60 AM2 boards.
Also, you can have this odd IDE/SATA hybrid mode if you use both busses, try turning it off.

Sata 3 HDD is a gimmick, they don't even reach SATA2 speeds yet afaik.
SSD-s do, but not HDD-s.

CPU benchmarks are almost always shit, with few exceptions.
Reviews should include speccpu2000, speccpu2006, and coremark. All would be well.

I hate my CPU. Intel speedstep is gay and shit. BIOS has it turned off, all fine. High power settings and stuff enabled.

Its like I went back to 1998!
But seriously, why do mobo manufacturers come up with such gaudy interfaces for their software? Because to be quite frank, my ASUS motherboard utilities aren't much better.

You're supposed to take those before you experience allergy symptoms.
Antihistamines are preventative.
