Etherkiller MK2, I like it! [t]http://i.imgur.com/16lBt.jpg[/t] [editline]5th March 2012[/editline] You must really hate someone to plug that into their computer.
I'm pretty sure the thin ethernet cable itself would melt..
http://www.gizmag.com/nerve-prostheses-interface-scaffolds/21646/ So I heard you guys like the singularity.
About a third of the bottom of two gold contacts came off my video card just now. Should I be worried? Hurry up I'm getting nervous as hell here.
As in the PCI-E connector pins?
As in the PCI-E connector pins?
Correct.
Correct.
Uh oh...
Uh oh...
Man I hope I didn't damage the mobo as well? Sounds like I am fucked am I? Doesn't the PCI-e slot on the mobo touch all of the gold though? So it may not be a problem?
Man I hope I didn't damage the mobo as well?
How exactly did they come off? And no, I doubt it would have damaged your motherboard.
An iPod HDD would be pretty cool, can you even get drives that small from OEM's now?
Microdrives are obsolete, but yes you can buy them.
This is just a quick question so I'll ask it here: The family laptop is broke, starting up with a black and white version of the Windows Vista ribbons and a command prompt that I can't type in, and is blank. I've tried reinstalling windows outright but setup hangs at "Setup is starting..." What do?
How exactly did they come off? And no, I doubt it would have damaged your motherboard.
Was taking it out, forgot to push the PCI-e thing on the mobo, and I saw two pieces of gold fly out then I got my card out. My warranty is probably voided but I haven't even had the things for 30 days yet. Also, I do not currently have RAM installed in my computer so I can't test it. I did see the PCI-e slot on the mobo move a little bit too.

Hurry up I'm getting nervous as hell here.
PCI-E is made to work regardless of how many connectors there is. I'm pretty sure it has to be either 16, 8, 4 or 1, but I'm not really sure. It's a bad thing you snapped them off anyhow. Lemme say it clearly again. I was taking out the my Gigabyte 6850 and I didn't unlock the card before I took it out, so I took it out and the bottom third of two gold pins came flying out of the thing. Also, the PCI-e slot on the mobo moved a bit while I did this as well. Am I fucked or not? I got it from Newegg and it has not been 30 days yet. Newegg's return policy. Never mind I'm stupid. I looked at pictures of the card and both pins that I thought were broken are supposed to be that way. But I did see something fly out of my motherboard. Motheboard only costs 55 bucks so that isn't terrible.

What's a decent IM client that wont use too many resources, isn't too intrusive, supports facebook chat (or adding a XMPP/Jabber server) and looks good?
So has it damaged the actual card "insert", or just the pins that flaked off?
I see no damage on the pins now, but I'm wondering that came out of my motherboard, probably from the PCI-e slot.
Makol.
I cause hardware failures. Not people physically breaking a card.
I cause hardware failures. Not people physically breaking a card.
Assuming some people aren't actually androids, in which case breaking stuff might be the result of a hardware failure
I wasn't aware that some people are an OS. Seems like KillerTele and Ooops: 404 don't know what a joke is.
If anyone can tell me what came out of my motherboard, possibly the motherboard's PCI-e pin, because the thing that came out was really small, could someone tell me? Also, if I put the card back into the computer and turn it on, and the fans work ok, does that mean my card's fine? I can't really check 100% sure as I have no RAM for this thing right now.
I wasn't aware that some people are an OS.
My brain is in fact running a pirated version of Win 2000 (In case of potential Warez ban consideration: That was a joke and my brain is running a fully licensed OEM copy of Windows Vista)
