Does anyone happen to remember the name of the embedded x86 board that was only slightly more expensive than the raspberry pi?
I think it had an embedded 386/486 on it.
Maybe you're thinking about the BeagleBoard?
Just got my mom a birthday present.
iPod Nano 8gb, Scented candle, and some hot glue. How'd i do?

BeagleBoard is ARM. I'm looking for an x86 (386/486) based board..
I saw this thing posted in one of the raspberry pi threads but I can't find it and it's driving me nuts.
I bought an itx atom board for $60, should be fine for whatever you're going to do.

Holy shit.
Three, THREE times more powerful than an 580, I hope this is true.
haha
no it won't be
it's nothing but hype

Did I hear "rumor" in there anywhere?
Its from GDC, watch the fucking video.
Samaritan Demo took 3 580's to get acceptable frame rates.
It took one 680.

a lot of places are reporting this

Samaratin took 3 580's to get 30+

It checks out.

Better?

Even better?
there is 0% proof backing this up other than a rumor/leaked info
we need solid benchmarks and video proving this to be true (which it most likely isn't)
I need benchmarks and more sources to believe such a claim.

Makol its fact.
It may not be benchmarks but it gives you a fairly good idea.
makol you ninja
Makol its fact.
That isn't how computers work.
That isn't how computers work.
Yes, I know, its unlikely that its 3x as fast, as it was using an new type of shading, but it shows its fucking fast.
That still doesn't prove shit.
It's more than likely a 20% to 30% faster than a single GTX 580. If it's higher than that I'll be impressed since I have very low expectations for the 600 series of cards from what I know about them.
That still doesn't prove shit.
Fucking AMD fanboys.
Its going to better than AMD stuff, tech is a game of constant leapfrog, deal with it.
Regardless, If it takes 3 gpu's to run something, and 1 of another, it its considerably more powerful than anything else.
Uh.
No one is being a fanboy here but you, dingus.
We'll see when we get more info.
Yes, I know, its unlikely that its 3x as fast, as it was using an new type of shading, but it shows its fucking fast.
no, it doesn't
all it means is that today one 680 can run the demo with the same framerate as 3 580s last year
also three 580's != 3x as powerful as a single 580
MC3, add me on Steam.

I have a rig with AMD stuff in it, and one with similar Nvida stuff, I'm not a fanboy, they are both fairly similar.
You sure seem like one by blindly defending something with literally no facts.

I have nVidia components running right now.
I am not going to believe such a claim until more information is available.

noone even mentioned AMD, are you autistic? do you not understand computer? they could have optimized the engine, they could have been limited by memory constraints, the new videocard might do dx11 better, they might have been bottlenecked by the CPU before, there's tons of other variables than omg 1 680 IS THREE tiems more powerful!!!!!!
MC3, add me on Steam.
No
Why :(
