haha seems like two people aren't happy with skype being used
Skype has terrible latency and voice quality Plus it uses up stupid amounts of bandwidth for that I don't know how you even manage to play
Name: Henri Occupation: Student Age: 13.11 Location: Estonia Convenient Playing Time: 13.00GMT - 20.00GMT, depends on the day. Game Preference: TF2/CS: S/MC/etc. Mic: Yes Steam: Yes Skype: Yes Internet: Yes Computer: Yes Monitor: Yes
Plus skype group chats are goddamn annoying especially since I have to have the program open all the time for other purposes
I've just remembered that the only mic i have is the one on my ipod which PICKS UP EVERY FUCKING THING that goes on in the house
IP: 213.230.203.215 Port: 36088 I can't seem to connect to it for some reason.
Connection refused. Are you sure they opened it already?
Skype has terrible latency and voice quality Plus it uses up stupid amounts of bandwidth for that I don't know how you even manage to play
I have never and any issues with Skype and we have yet to experience any. I've been using it like we have been for two years already. Why bother changing now when there haven't been any issues? [editline]11th March 2012[/editline]
Name: Henri Occupation: Student Age: 13.11 Location: Estonia Convenient Playing Time: 13.00GMT - 20.00GMT, depends on the day.
Connection refused. Are you sure they opened it already?
3 minute setup wait, that's taken mine 15 minutes. I have a working one: viciousmalice.mumble.com:5303
Connection refused. Are you sure they opened it already?
It says there's a pending reboot on the account, I rebooted it after it said it had already been set up.
I have never and any issues with Skype and we have yet to experience any. I've been using it like we have been for two years already. Why bother changing now when there haven't been any issues?
I fail to see how a delay of like a few seconds is not an issue
I fail to see how a delay of like a few seconds is not an issue
What would you prefer, few seconds of delay (Skype) or really skippy sound (Steam) I prefer skype. The sound lag is not that bad at all. And for some reason, Steam starts skipping sound, only sending small parts of the actual sentence.
I fail to see how a delay of like a few seconds is not an issue
Uh. What delay? I have experienced little no delay with Skype. I swear half the shit people complain about involving programs aren't real or are so minor it's not worth whining/complaining about.
Maybe it's just me, then, but I've tried to have three-man voice chats on Skype and they've been incredibly painful because people start talking at the same time as each other but don't know it until two seconds later and conversations fuck up
I've never experienced skipping with steam voice chat.
Maybe it's just me, then, but I've tried to have three-man voice chats on Skype and they've been incredibly painful because people start talking at the same time as each other but don't know it until two seconds later and conversations fuck up
I normally have Skype calls with 4+ people with literally no issues. And if there is one it's usually the same guy because his internet is awful to begin with. [editline]11th March 2012[/editline]
Pepper;35092838']I've never experienced skipping with steam voice chat.
My only use for Steam Voice is using it to wake people up who fall asleep on Skype.
Pepper;35092838']I've never experienced skipping with steam voice chat.
Might be my computer then.. Happens when CPU usage is high and shit.
I just don't get why you couldn't even try mumble seriously it's so much better for that kinda stuff it's not even funny and you can have push-to-talk
I just don't get why you couldn't even try mumble seriously it's so much better for that kinda stuff it's not even funny and you can have push-to-talk
The problem with mumble is that I can't seem to get the server working, UKGame appear to be crap at hosting servers.
I just don't get why you couldn't even try mumble seriously it's so much better for that kinda stuff it's not even funny and you can have push-to-talk
i tend to agree PLUS skype uses a fair admout of data useage Please invite me into the group chat
Pepper;35092838']I've never experienced skipping with steam voice chat.
I've noticed if one person is having connection problems it starts to skip. My only issue with Skype is how slow it is to react to problems, one of my friends totally lost his connection the other day and his mic was spewing static, it didn't kick him from the call so we had to leave it ourselves. Minor software issues that probably can't be reproduced 100% of the time, not enough to force me not to use them.
I just don't get why you couldn't even try mumble seriously it's so much better for that kinda stuff it's not even funny and you can have push-to-talk
Skype has that too.
