Skypes using 157MB for me, also, I may have to persuade my mother to pay more for BT Infinity than shitty sky unlimited.
Uhhh yes it does. Skype is using 85 MB for me, vent is using 4MB and TS3 is using 13 MB

o no 2% of your total RAM if you're using 4 GB T_T
For me Skype likes forcing itself into the foreground (even when I have a fullscreen program running like Fallout NV) just to show me ads. as well as it generally bogging my computer down but that might be due to having old hardware
I've discovered that playing old DOS games without any digital audio hardware is hilarious PC speakers were fucking awesome

And I have never had performance problems because of skype, I think.
PC speakers were fucking awesome
And fucking annoying because you can't control the volume :v:
Someone did a comparison of Skype, TS3, Vent and Mumble some years back. I believe TeamSpeak or Skype was rated the worst and Ventrilo the best (because of the voice quality, I think). Does someone have a link to that thing?
I've always favored Steam's VOIP because everybody fucking has Steam.
I've always favored Steam's VOIP because everybody fucking has Steam.
Steams voip has worked 2 times for me, and it's been dreadful both times
Steams voip has worked 2 times for me, and it's been dreadful both times
It's never not worked for me. [editline]11th March 2012[/editline] Especially with the somewhat recent updates, I usually use it when I'm playing games with my friends now instead of using whatever in-game VOIP there might be.
And fucking annoying because you can't control the volume :v:
There's often an option in the BIOS for it. And I vaguely recall OpenBSD having a command for it, although that might just be modifying what \a does, not the actual PC speaker does.

Steam VOIP never fucking works for me. Even when it does though, half way through the call I want to kill myself. [editline]11th March 2012[/editline] I know I'm a bit late on this, but... Not like its a big deal though. And if anybody wants to add me (probably nobody, saying how I annoy every user on facepunch), Skype username is TonyTheBean.
I'll add you to my hit list
Notsureifserious.jpg My current Steam folder is 110gb and that has RAGE GTA4 DeusEx HR DeusEX HR Missing link LA Noire Skyrim CS:S Chronicles of Riddick Assault on Dark Athena Killing Floor HL2 No more room in hell Dirt3 All points bulletin I don't need all these installed. little sketchup of my revised case idea, since I shouldn't need more than 6 ports I'm only going to use one of them on the rear [editline]11th March 2012[/editline] that rect on the side is a US dollar bill, for scale. Raspberry Pi are really small
