My friend got the 955 with c3 stepping, runs much cooler than the previous versions. When'd you buy yours?
I got mine a couple months ago from newegg, and I got stuck with the C2. Would that explain it?

No doubt; Last LAN party at my house, another friend who's got the 955 c2 stepping idled at 43-44 even after I put some arctic 5 on it. It's just :supaburn: out of the box.

Stock heatsink/fan?
Stock heatsink/fan?
Ye
That sucks. I've even got a CM V8 cooler on it with arctic 5. Ah well, I'm not looking to join the 4.0ghz club anytime soon, no big deal.

Uh, why do you have a V8 if you're not going to overclock?
I wish i didnt have a faulty temp censor
Uh, why do you have a V8 if you're not going to overclock?
cause its fun wasting money

Pretty good, though the sensor on the GPU is stuck.

I don't play games and such so yeah...

I'm overclocking soon enough. I've got the 790FX from MSI as well, I just haven't had the time to sit down and do it.

after playing crysis, 800 core on my 470
temps are shit on my 920, i need to adjust the cooler
finally found a program that displays semi-accurate temps for my cpu
was on my driver disk
:effort:

Thats when running F@H SMP all 4 cores 100%
Uh, that's not possible? What kind of crazy ass cooling do you have?

Xigmatek darknight with Nocuta thermal paste
Its better than everything else which says i full load at ~25c
[editline]10:44PM[/editline]
and it does sometimes creep into the mid 40's

Well try running Prime95 or something because I'm using a Xigmatek S1283 + Ultra Kaze with Tuniq TX-2 and I load at about 54C.
no difference, i thought i had found my knight in shining armour, but alas, ''twas too good to be true

You should try IntelBurnTest.
You should try IntelBurnTest.
they're all the same shit
So what is your actual load temperature after like 10 hours of any of these? Because I'm seriously doubting your cooler, which is basically the same thing as mine, with possibly better thermal paste is that much better.
well i once did ~7 hours of FAH and it go to around 49 tops
GTX 295 is idling at 75 C.
i7 920 is idling at 34 C.
they're all the same shit
IBT is linpack stress testing, where prime95 is.. prime stress testing. It's different, and usually linpack stress testing makes your CPU hotter than prime stress testing
edit:
unless you mean temps

i think thats a tad too warm for idle

GPU temps are way too high, I need to dust this system out.
It's been probably two or three months since I last cleaned this one.

no
Gaming Rig at Idle, at maximum load, it typically is 20 degrees hotter than idle.
