Yeah, that's what the betas are for, so plugin devs can make sure their stuff doesn't break with the new code. Otherwise they could probably just update progressively without messing with beta testing.
What are you doing and why am I rated dumb. I know all of this. [editline]10:29AM[/editline] Rate me dumb I've never gotten a lot of dumbs in one post
Love this design, yes it's 'chromey' but Chrome sucks. Tried all the browsers after deciding firefox might be a slow, and after that... I'm still using firefox. It's not all about design you know >.<
Those 4.0 screens progress line looks silly. They should make it (on Windows atleast) to fill the whole address bar ala Windows Explorer
gimmme
Looking good.
reminds me of my transparent firefox theme
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox/4.0_Windows_Theme_Mockups Firefox 4.0 pics oh shit
Obviously photoshopped, Windows UI. but look at the "Search" button in google. It's a mac button. FAKE. and why wouldn't they just make 3.7 have this UI instead? EDIT: Also, Reminds me of MY Firefox theme.
Obviously photoshopped, Windows UI. but look at the "Search" button in google. It's a mac button. FAKE.
No shit. Plus you can have the "Windows UI" with Mac buttons. Either way we all know it's a mockup, or concept if you will.
wow you mean they didn't write all the code for that new UI yet and instead used the logical option of GIMP'ing it? (Did they really use photoshop? They do work on free software...) I'm stumped.
reminds me of my transparent firefox theme
except that looks terrible
except that looks terrible
Agreed. Mine looks better. :banjo:
We've had it since the 90's. Get used to change. Even if it's years late.
And you know why we had it since the 90s? Because until just recently, programmers knew what "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" meant.

Looks awesome.
God damnit I hate this crap, it's just like Vista's explorer. I want the friggin menu.
EDIT: Also, Reminds me of MY Firefox theme. [img_thumb]http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/9378/firefoxm.jpg[/img_thumb]
which obviously is based on the 3.7 design.
All transparency looks ugly with most of my backgrounds.
All transparency looks ugly with most of my backgrounds.
Correction: Most of my backgrounds suck so I can't use transparency :)
Lol yep. I just fresh installed W7 so I have next to no backgrounds yet.
OMG FILE MENUS SUX BECAUSE THEY WASTE SCREEN SPACE
Like oh my god, I lost 24px of screen space, THE WORLD IS ENDING!!!!!! Stop complaining, it's stupid. People start saying dropdown menus are stupid and take up space. Guess what geniuses, that "tools" button is just another dropdown menu that makes the file menu hierarchy one step longer and that much more complicated. You could also argue that the PNG for that graphic makes the GUI have a bigger filesize footprint, compared to some simple lines of text. The problem here is that idiots are bitching that their laptops are too big and they want these tiny ass things that shouldn't even be considered PCs to do what a full sized laptop does and more. Then they start moaning about how much screen space they don't have and how applications need to be catered to them because they feel special with their tiny shitty netbooks. Stop being cheapskates and buy a real laptop.
that isn't 24 pixels. do the math. that's 24 pixels, times the width. for example, firefox isn't wasting 24 pixels on my computer at the moment. It's wasting 33600 pixels. Plus, look at this bloat:
not wasting. using. just like vista's superfetch or prefetch or whatever. actually, its wasting that space after "Help" on the menu and you can hide the bookmark bar, since you obviously don't use it.

Then they start moaning about how much screen space they don't have and how applications need to be catered to them because they feel special with their tiny shitty netbooks. Stop being cheapskates and buy a real laptop.
Wow you're stupid. To begin with, as most of todays screens are widescreen vertical space is needed, even if the screen isn't tiny. And every bit of improvement is gonna help, it's just like saying: I'm not gonna recycle because just one person doesn't make an impact, but if everyone thinks that it does. so if they make some improvements in the design and remove a couple of pixels here and there it's gonna make a differences in the end. And one click more? seriously it isn't that hard, it's better to make everyone click ONE extra time and save the space and make the users happy. As they are making it for everyone they need to compensate for the things that are needed the most, in this case vertical space. And most people don't use netbooks as their main PC/laptop, it's just that not everyone wanna carry around a 20" mother fucking brick so they can get extra screen space. And for the PNG, the text you're talking about have an image behind it too, that's probably bigger. And it's not like a small 10 kb image is going to slow down anything. They're probably gonna add in an option to toggle between new and old menu style. And if they dont, as firefox is highly customizable someone could just make an addon for it.
