that is more accurate than saying it's wasting only 24. it's the area, not the height. plus, those menus imo are better integrated into a single button like the redesign concepts or chrome, therefore taking up what like 16x16 space and freeing up a lot of space which can be trimmed down to make a sleak and efficient use of space.
[editline]03:39PM[/editline]
how can you argue that firefox doesn't need to manage the space better? 'NOO I LIKE IT HUGE IT NEEDS TO BE BIGGER I DONT EVEN WANT TO SEE THE WEB PAGE I JUST WANT MORE MENUS'
[editline]03:40PM[/editline]
i think people still like the menus because they are still too used to XP. I don't remember what vista does but I do know that they are basically gone in 7 and it is very good.
7 has an amazing aesthetic compared to xp and vista, and firefox needs to get wit da times

actually, the tools button would be harder to navigate because you need to fit the WHOLE menu bar into one button.
I think they should combine the bookmark bar and the menu bar. that would be using space correctly.
like 2 choices: Menu + Bookmark bar, or the tools button.
that isn't 24 pixels. do the math. that's 24 pixels, times the width. for example, firefox isn't wasting 24 pixels on my computer at the moment. It's wasting 33600 pixels.
Plus, look at this bloat:
Hurr, I can do minimalistic too, most people are just too busy bitching about how file menus suck to even think about it.

78px vs your "minimalist" 83px.
not wasting. using.
just like vista's superfetch or prefetch or whatever.
actually, its wasting that space after "Help" on the menu
and you can hide the bookmark bar, since you obviously don't use it.
You mean SuperSlow(tm)? I have never seen that shitty feature do anything useful. My system was way faster with it disabled.
7 has an amazing aesthetic compared to xp and vista, and firefox needs to get wit da times
Because everyone needs to be exactly like Microsoft with their bloated OSes and proprietary trade secrets :downs:

but that just looks terrible. using space well + looking good is what we want.
You people are hilarious. Fullscreen using the navi buttons on my G5 is where it's at. :smug:

you know it's gonna look like this right?:

but even smaller, and the could to it so that the original menu bar slides out of the button (stupid, but would be pretty cool) :q:

Our argument was on space, not aesthetics. Your point is invalid, smart people don't care about ridiculous futuristic glass GUIs if it has usability.

yea except google chrome is missing options. you'd have to fit all the stuff in the firefox menus into that space. which either means making everything an icon, or making a larger menu in the button.

No, it's called me driving home from the night shift, which takes about a half hour.
A mod trolling AND being an idiot? That's unpossible!, especially with the grammar errors. It's obvious that you cut off the top of the window, your comparison is invalid.
i didn't haha, download, maximise and see for yourself. that's rich.
[editline]04:37PM[/editline]
take a look where the minimise, maximise and close icons are. not cut off.

Sorry, I don't use shit OSes like Vista.
MOAR DUMBS PLEASE.
I'm using windows 7. But nice job being wrong for the entirety of the thread.

ALSO it's the same on XP. Go on, try it for yourself, see that I am right. I urge you.
[img_thumb]http://imgkk.com/i/kU1mGJ.png[/img_thumb]
If it's any smaller then I hate how it looks and it makes the neon fox thing look silly
and whine at my wasted horizontal space, bitches
also inb4 someone posts IE with two dozen toolbars

Let's use your screenshot so you can't have an excuse for being stupid, like you have been for the entire thread.

Looks like 83px to me, and paint.net seems to agree. Unless you have another photoshopped or clipped picture you want to use.

That's in a small window. Maximised (much like the picture you posted is, and as is the one i compared to yours) it takes up less than yours.
[editline]04:54PM[/editline]
How many times do I have to say TRY IT FOR YOURSELF. I'm not photoshopping it, and I'm pretty sure it does it on every OS. So nice try. This is pretty hilarious.
[editline]04:55PM[/editline]
Minimised, it has slightly more space up the top so that it's not too small compared to other windows, and has room to click to drag it around.
[editline]04:56PM[/editline]
You can't get yourself out of this because I am 100% being truthful and correct, just download the program and see that I'm right. How hard is that?
I love how anal everyone's getting over a dozen pixels of vertical space
because that's going to make my browsing experience so much better
Lol looks closer to safari now. Although Firefox obviously trumps.
if only it wasn't still too low and was all transparenty
I'm all for this change, but I was the whole address bar to be the progress bar.
I know about that, I was using it. I mean with his, which has tabs up the top (almost)
The only reason i started useing firefox is because of the file edit view history brows tools help once IE went over to hiding shit i came over to firefox. Its much easier with a drop down menu!

I don't really understand what you are saying
I'd like the transparency, but with the Menu bar.
I don't really understand what you are saying
he used firefox because everyone else got rid of the menubar.
