Not that CPU usage has anything to do with memory leaks, "thousands of people" are wrong. Yes, shitty plugins (flash) can raise your CPU usage significantly, yes, addons can add to the memory requirements, but no, Firefox, by default, for hundreds of thousands of users, does not suffer from those issues.
If your Firefox does, file in a bug report. No addons, no plugins.

The design ideas for 4.0 go a lot further, tabs above the address bar and they move them into the titlebar.
