No it doesn't.
chrome is crap. i dont want FF to become chrome all i ask for is an addon to remove those buttons and add my menu bar or a ribbon.
FF with the ribbon interface :O [editline]10:41PM[/editline] Nvm I actually like the ribbon
Jesus christ, Safari (for Windows) and Chrome both have those icons.
Mine is to the right [editline]10:54PM[/editline] Also my browser window has been open for hours now, at times reaching 20 tabs :O Damnit the mem usage didn't show in the pic :P
FF with the ribbon interface
would look great. ribbon above URL bar, tabs below.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa no menu bar... ooh wait Why should I need one lol
Awesome. Too bad it will probably break all my favorite addons. :emo:
I'm liking this... alot. It's similar to my current FF layout / style. I'm using glasser and hidestatusbar / hide menubar.
That grey Page button in the first picture didn't fit in at all. [editline]07:06PM[/editline] And I'm getting really annoyed with browsers getting rid of good ole' File, Edit, View, etc.
Same here. But I hope they will include a way to view those buttons anyway.
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa no menu bar... ooh wait Why should I need one lol
For all of those useful things like a URL box, bookmarks, etc.
Software developers should target the design for what people want. There are obviously some people here who want the menu bar and some don't. I'm sure that Mozilla will make it toggleable. As for memory usage, Firefox should still never cause you any memory errors or run slow, and the amazing addons for the browser make it worth while.
File Edit View History Bookbarks Tools Help FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU Other than that it looks great. [editline]08:20AM[/editline] Yes I know where they're getting moved to.
spot the difference:
Oh god finally, it supports aero.
spot the difference:
You realise they're using the same icons in FF 3.5 right? All that changed is the color.
well i havent used chrome in a while, so i'm downloading it to check what options it was missing ok, here we go, 1: missing an option to decide whether to delete cookies at the end of a browsing session, or to never delete, etc. Incognito Mode (ctrl + shift + n) 2: no addons ( i know its not an option, but i consider it a feature, which most browsers do not have) I think they're working on it 3: no option to tell chrome how to open certain files (example: i set firefox to automatically download RAR files, but to tell me when its downloading jpg's, and to open mp3's in WMP) It opens the files using Windows' default. Change that. 4: chrome tries to add a startup program without telling me. Example? I don't think mine has. 5: didnt see a "master password" option (tell me if i'm wrong) Yeah, ok. 6: no autoscrolling or smoothscrolling options, that i saw. Middle mouse button and move the cursor. 7: didnt see a "clear private data" option or button Tool, clear browsing data. You didn't exactly look very hard. there's probably others, but those are some of the more important. again, correct me if i'm wrong.
message too short [editline]01:33PM[/editline]
You realise they're using the same icons in FF 3.5 right? All that changed is the color.
The tool and page icons are new, aren't they? And they've changed more than just the colour.
Wait what the fuck. I just noticed the lack of the menus on the top. Sure, it makes it look prettier, but it's horrid to use. I hated IE7 for this.
Huh? I've had my FF up for four days with 41 tabs and I'm at 887MB of RAM usage. It doesn't bother me much but I'd enjoy a 'memory cache cleaning' function/addon. Still it ain't bad: If I want to play FallOut 3 then I just Save and Quit Firefox and then play FO3. On-topic: Looks good. I wonder how mod-able the skinning will be? (Never seen a modded Aero skin's template before)
I know chrome > FF3 but i don't like the interface. :C
The tool and page icons are new, aren't they? And they've changed more than just the colour.
No, they changed the color and the border. But my point is, they didn't copy from chrome at all. They've had these icons since 3.0. The tool and page icons are new, yes.
For all of those useful things like a URL box, bookmarks, etc.
Ctrl + L Ctrl + B
Ctrl + L Ctrl + B
I'm not going to remember 15 shortcuts for some obscure features I use once a week and can just click on. Somebody will come up with an addon to add the bar back, anyway, and that'll be the end of the whining.
[editline]04:22AM[/editline] most computers nowadays come with 3072MB of RAM installed and people are bitching about FF using 200MB? really? the app that they're likely using the most?
Netbooks. [editline]02:08PM[/editline] Not that is matters because Firefox is atrocious on my Eee anyway.
I call Chrome ripoff.
The glyphs are all very generic, settings icons have used various representations including gears, spanners and hammers for ages. Same with the blank page icon, Windows has used that style since at least 1995.
Netbooks. [editline]02:08PM[/editline] Not that is matters because Firefox is atrocious on my Eee anyway.
Firefox works great on my netbook.
what the fuck where's my file/edit/view/etc menu gone im not updating to this when its released unless there's an option to put the file/edit menu back in
Firefox works great on my netbook.
But it looks very ugly. [editline]12:01AM[/editline]
what the fuck where's my file/edit/view/etc menu gone im not updating to this when its released unless there's an option to put the file/edit menu back in
seriously am i the only one that wants that shit gone? [editline]12:01AM[/editline] well apparently not because all the browser designers agree with me and they are DESIGNERS what do you know!!
More like Chomefox, amirite? But seriously... isn't it? It's mainly the tools and page buttons that have me thinking that.
But it looks very ugly. [editline]12:01AM[/editline] seriously am i the only one that wants that shit gone? [editline]12:01AM[/editline] well apparently not because all the browser designers agree with me and they are DESIGNERS what do you know!!
Designs can have flaws, and being a designer doesn't automatically mean you can make the perfect UI. Also designs are greatly opinionated. Firefox looks fine on my netbook. I don't know what you're talking about. I personally love the toolbar and I don't really like it moved. It feels like something is missing.
