What a sad state the GPU market is in. I'm going to be in the market for a new computer soon and I can't buy a single graphics card from the NVIDIA site. I get that NVIDIA doesn't care, they're making money, but it's killing the normal consumer market.
No one is going to massively expand GPU production either until they're convinced crypto is here to stay.
p sure nvidia's 1100 series is around the corner
My bad, I asked this question previously but went away on spring break and didnt check for awhile:
An AMD Threadripper 1900X was given to me for free, I'm looking at the X399 mobos and there is a limited, but expensive set of choices.
Is there a go to board here? I've been looking up reviews and benchmarks etc, reviewing the features, but I'd like to get some first hand experience from a user.
I'm upgrading from an i5-3570K.
I'm really wondering how these new NVidia products are gonna launch in the current mining craze. Crazy new prices for the products like we've never seen before, or standard MSRPs that are gonna rise like the 10 series?
I mean you can still buy direct from nvidia or the manufacturers at the normal MSRP.
Hopefully they implement a system that doesn't allow them to run bitcoin farming and restrict that to dedicated cards or something.
8GB is kind of low for that build. I'd go up to 16GB. What's an extra $80-90 when you're already spending $1400? lol
This GPU crisis has me wondering if PC gaming is going to be accessible to me at any point in the next two years. Maybe it's because I'm a working-class student but I always figured I'd be able to upgrade my GPU to something current for around £200. A GTX 1060 3GB is bordering on £300 and from what benchmarks tell me even that won't do pubg on ultra (+60fps)
I've been out of the game since like, 2011. I have an XFX 6950 2GB - is there any affordable, sensible upgrade, or should I wait for the market to drop? Will it drop?
Honestly is the perfect time to get a MXM capable laptop if you're willing to spend 1000-1500$ on a system with a 1060 save some dime and get one with a 1070 or 1080 in a laptop form factor.
This is really not related, but I hope you do realize your username literally means "Cock Monster" in Danish.
how often do they restock?
Every few months
I get this literally every month
I embrace it at this point
do they announce it anywhere?

Choose "auto notify" on this page and it should email you when they're in stock.
I have a lot of surplus income.
I want a reasonably well specced PC, it needs to be SMALL, not one of those teenager cases(minimalist) and it needs to be QUIET.
Currently even contemplating buying a pc from Origin.
Any better solutions?
I'm always an advocate for building yourself but the way shit is priced these days origin doesn't look to bad
Nzxt and inwin have some cool mini itx cases that can fit big radiators
NZXT H200i ITX Tower Chassis White/Black Version with 2x120mm, S..
InWin Mini Tower
Is $660 a fair price for selling a slightly used 1080?
I had to list mine one ebay because it wont fit in my Zaber Sentry case. Ended up buying a reference sized 1080ti SC for $950 but at least it came with a free case I can sell.

You can see where the card pokes out of the case lol
Been wanting to do an upgrade for my CPU soon, which means I need a new mobo and ram to coincide. I did want to get a new GPU too but prices are a bit too steep for me, so I was thinking of getting the other parts and wait for a good deal.

This is the build I have so far, would it be worth to get the ram now and wait for deals on the rest of the parts? I've got a good job for the next two months so I can save some money for the build. I'd preferably like to keep the lighting on parts but if there's a really good deal somewhere then I'll have to make the switch.
I really have no idea how prebuilt prices look in Germany, so-- how confident are you in your ability to put a shoebox-like PC together? How much do you value having a single warranty for your whole computer?
Not much confidence and I don't care for single warranty.
Tbh. I'd rather spend some more money on some dude who builöds it for me and gives me the proper receipts than throwing money at a big company.
I'm looking to upgrade my CPU. To do that I need a new Mobo, and probably new RAM, too. I've made a build on PC Part Picker that's just my current build minus the CPU and Mobo. If anyone here can recommend a CPU and Mobo from the options the site's compatibility filter provides it'd be greatly appreciated. I am by no means a PC building expert, so I really have no clue what I SHOULD choose. Cheap is good, but maximum compatibility is my top priority. And if I need new RAM, give me a heads-up on that, too. Here's the build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/c7xfHh
And if anyone needs to know what my current CPU and Mobo are right now, here's a build with those included: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zg9tgw
Maybe something along these lines: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/p4dGGG (Ryzen-based)
You'll need to get a bracket for your 212 to fit on AM4 (http://www.coolermaster.com/amd-am4-ryzen-compatability/en/)
Ryzen 2 is slowly making its way out this year, so you could wait to see how well they perform before committing. I think the current potential release date is in April.

quick buy them before the cryptocurrency non-gender conforming peoples hear about this deal
Seems fine. If you're going for 2400 speed memory you may be able to find something cheaper than Corsair, hynix/b-die only matters above 2667.
Also FYI: The B350 tomahawk is solid but only has 4 SATA ports, wasn't enough for me so I went X370 for 8 ports.
Better off saving up for the Gigabyte one, the cooler is larger and doubles as a meat tenderiser.

Too bad you can't quad SLI these
Just use 4 with Vulkan / DX12 multi GPU.
With enough dedication everything's possible
I really hate how I am stuck to Nvidia because I do Neural Network programming
