Anyone have any recommendations for a good mechanical keyboard? I'm looking for something subtle and open-concept, no LEDs, numpad included. A normal looking font would be nice too. I'm not into the whole "gamer label" but I want something that could perform just as well. Media controls would be nice too but I wouldn't expect that on a minimal board so I can take it or leave it By open concept, I mean something like this, where there's easy access to board to clean the keys. I also just enjoy that look.

I know it's labelled gaming and the font is a bit funky, but I think that's an acceptable compromise for the price. Also the keys are all floating, no bezel, so it's super duper easy to clean. Also it has media controls on the F5-F8 block as Fn keys. Not as good as dedicated keys, but again, the price. The keys are on a metal backing plate, and the board feels nice and solid and heavy. I've had no build quality issues. Overall I highly recommend this board.

I'm going to keep looking (I'm reeeeally picky about fonts, sorry) but that's like everything I wanted, for less than $40, which I was not expecting. Edit: Do they sell in browns? Normally there's a listing option where you can choose but I don't see that. Blue would be way too loud for me and the people around me

It has full RGB backlight and assignable keys and things. The reason Blue keyboards are so cheap is because most people want the clicky clacky noise so they make more Blues which drives the prices down. Same font though.
But new coins WILL appear and be picked up that can utilize current gpus because the mining capacity is there, already purchased. It would take active software monitoring by the gpu, forced by newer cards, to keep miners restricted to their aging cards.
New coins will appear, but if nobody is buying them because they already have 1000 different existing coins it wont be profitable to mine them. There will be a point where there just wont be any profit in making more coins. Seeing the bull market the bitcoin is in now, and the already thousands of different bitcoins that are out, I think we will be there sooner than later.
Pretty sure my motherboard died but I just wanted some second opinions before I start the tedious RMA I had a workstation with an MSI X299 Raider and a 7820x that I built a few months ago for development work. Went to go talk to my boss came back and my workstation died, all it will do is power everything on and stay on but won't post. No video, no post no beep codes etc. Removed all of the parts and checked individually still no beep codes or post. Used a different PSU to test and still nothing. Only indicator i have is the error lights for RAM and CPU each. I don't think the CPU died as that would be highly unusual (though they did rush skylake-x to market so who knows) and both sticks of RAM failing would be highly unusual as well. Also did a CMOS clear, switched to backup bios and nothing.
So I'm thinking of upgrading my PC from my i7 920, Asus Rampage 2 Extreme, and 12 GB DDR3 to something like this PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: AMD - Ryzen 7 1700X 3.4GHz 8-Core Processor ($299.89 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: Asus - CROSSHAIR VI HERO ATX AM4 Motherboard ($184.99 @ Newegg) Memory: G.Skill - Trident Z RGB 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($234.99 @ Newegg) Total: $765.67 Generated by PCPartPicker 2018-02-09 19:54 EST-0500 (I already have a Corsair H100i v2 AiO that can mount onto that board.) I have some questions though Is a 1800x worth the extra $50? I generally game but also do work in UE4, some light video editing, 3D modeling, some streaming here and there, that sort of thing. Before AMD's price drop I wouldn't consider the switch but now it is tempting. What should I look for in RAM for Ryzen? I've heard that 3200 is the sweet spot but what about CAS? Is it really worth the money to go from 16 to 14? Lastly, is it even worth upgrading right now or should I just wait longer?
I went and practically bought an entire new computer because it was time [t]https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/351706170626408448/411620294826917909/unknown.png[/t] [editline]10th February 2018[/editline] heres hoping some piece of shit miner didnt buy out the last two gpu's they had in stock
My boyfriend has my old 770, it's still perfectly serviceable for modern gaming at 1080p on medium-high.
I still run on a 760 with medium-high settings. I really want to upgrade
I still run on a 760 with medium-high settings. I really want to upgrade
Before it died, my 650 was also still really serviceable on a lot of new-ish games. Mostly medium, 40-60fps. Damn miracle, that thing was, it was even bought refurbished too (by accident, I didn't notice). RIP buddy If you wanna upgrade, I recommend going two gens up, to the 1060. Not right now of course, GPU prices are abominable.

So I plan on upgrading my 2600k some time in the next month and was wondering if this is ok. The motherboard is something I'm not entirely sure about as I usually just pick whatever. These are the only things that I'll even need to change as I already have a GPU, case, PSU and other stuff. Max budget would be around 1000-1200 USD just for the CPU, ram, heatsink and motherboard. A LOT of virtualization. The one problem that I have is finding a cpu heatsink that won't block a entire ram slot since I do plan on getting more ram in the future. I just don't want to have to take my entire heatsink off for the sake of a ram stick. The motherboard is something that I'm not sure of.
That Cryorig should be fine. Worst case you need to just unclip the fan to install the sticks, or just install the fan in a pull configuration from the beginning.

I think it's only really mistakes and edge cases where that'll happen. I don't think it's a problem in 2018 for like 99.9% of components.
When are the Intel B360/H170 motherboards coming out? I currently have a I3 3210 and 1050ti which needs upgrading. I was thinking of getting Ryzen 3 but the 8100 combined with the b360 might be better for gaming.
has anyone ordered a gpu from novatech recently?they still have some listed at rrp but do you have to wait forever?
Can anyone show me where I can buy replacement power/reset buttons but not as ugly as these?

my brother has requested an update on his 6 year old pc. what would the best mobo/cpu/ram combo for around $650 aud? (newegg australia or pccasegear are good references) the idea is to then spend another ~$500 eventually when gpu prices are less ridiculous

Is it worth it to get Ryzen's over their intel equivalent? I'm guessing it's more bang for buck? It will be primarily for gaming if that makes a difference. I'm still sour over the last time I got burned by an AMD cpu back in like 2008, which is irrational I know, but it's there.

The APU is good enough to run most things whilst we wait for GPU prices to come back down.
You should wait zen+ is out really soon and is 10-20% faster https://www.kitguru.net/components/cpu/matthew-wilson/performance-numbers-leak-out-for-amds-upcoming-ryzen-5-2600-zen-cpu/ imo even though current intel cpu's are really good value for money now AMD has a competitive lineup it's a better choice because they don't change the socket all the fucking time
