They're not supposed to. I have 3 screens, the windows gadgets are there because I turned off the other 2 screens and all the stuff there gets crammed together.
And I havent found and Rainmeter that has the functions that window toorbar has.
Made it all fancy and shit.

Can anyone tell me how that bar on the right is called?
So what do you folks think about mine?
Anyone got any comments? suggestions? criticisms?

Your desktop might appeal to people who don't know that much about computers, and think that all the fancy rainmeter stuff is high-tech or something.

I updated it. Changed some redundancy I overlooked, and fixed some elements that were displaying the wrong info.
Also the sidebars with the CPU/GFX readouts on the right all jump over to the other monitor for when I enable EYEfinity. It allows me to monitor while I play some games.
you know the clock
arcs.ini
that the bars actually show system info and aren't just for show? (when configured properly like yours isn't)
up to and including network usage and even the date?
so why the fuck do you have all that other hideous shit on the right
move the rainmeter setup to your other monitor and remove the gadgets
Just re-did mine. I found the no taskbar setup to be pretty impractical

I enjoy Stardock Fences. Nice for hiding clutter. I know the second pic is a bit clogged, but it's useful for getting to frequently used programs and places that aren't so pretty on the taskbar. All I have to do is double right-click on the desktop and it appears / disappears.
[editline]5th January 2012[/editline]
Just to clarify, that second picture is what my desktop looks like when I double-click to open fences. It doesn't always look like that.

That's pretty cool that they can be toggled, though you have some pinned to the task bar and in Fences.
I've seen a few desktops with shortcut arrows, I just want to point out that you CAN remove them.

Yeah, I usually don't have hidden files turned on. I was doing something in Roaming though. Also, I'm aware they're in both places. I don't always use fences. Sometimes it's just easier to go to the taskbar.

Gotta love them school desktops.

Wrote a little script for the shell window title, uses a quotes api and some trickery to get a random quote every time I open a terminal window. The actual shell is terminator, theme is Zukini + tweaked Unity (edited panel-shadow.png, increased panel transparency, "disabled" unity sidebar), the dock is Docky, icons are Faenza.
