• Sky Broadband - I've went over my bandwidth limit again?!?

80 a month for 3/1 connection with no monthly bandwidth limit. Cable One has a monopoly here.
80 what
USD, shitsux
This reminds me of the National Broadband Network that is being worked on down here in Australia, offering speeds of up to 100 mbit/s. It'll probably be held back by our current shitty limits though. Don't let me get started on Telstra: Mum/Mom pays $AUS60 a month for 1500/256 kbit/s with a 12GB download quota (which counts downloads AND uploads). Australia's going to be an internet backwater while Telstra has a monopoly over the country's internet. Their file server's also no longer unmetered, so we can't download Linux distros without them taking a fair chunk out of our monthly limits. While people are getting ripped off by Telstra because they don't know any better, Internode's offering the same speed for $AUS50 a month with a 50GB quota (which counts downloads and uploads, but it's way better than Hellstra's paltry offerings).
Move to America. $40 USD for 16 Mb/s w/250GB cap.
Why? When I can have 20Mb/s with unlimited bandwidth for £10 a month?
Oh damn :C I guess I'm gonna have to pay £10 a month for unlimited bandwidth then.. [editline]12:00PM[/editline] Also my internet is running like crap since I went over the limit, would this be related to that and sky maybe trying to stop me going over by loads more?
Thats incredibly cheap for unlimited bandwidth.
(Like Virgin Broadband UK) do it comparatively, so maybe the top 4% of users over the last 24 hours etc.
I swear to god I am always in that 4% band no matter what I do.
$45/month for 25mb/s with unlimited cap :smug:
:smug::hf::smug:
I guess the Sky isn't the limit for the OP.
:golfclap:

Fucking $109.95/month for 50gb, both downloads and uploads counted.
Omg... how do you survive with that kinda bandwith?. O.o.. I alone use around 600gb every single day...
I have a 100gb limit on Shaw's Extreme I service. I can download at 1.8mbp/s though. I have gone all the way to 200gb, they don't care.
Omg... how do you survive with that kinda bandwith?. O.o.. I alone use around 600gb every single day...
You single-handedly download 7,11MB/s all 24 hours of a day? [editline]09:46PM[/editline] :raise:
$45/month for 25mb/s with unlimited cap :smug:
100mb/s free uncapped :smug: Ok it's not really free it's included in the apartments rent but it's pretty damn small (a lot less than if it was by itself).
You single-handedly download 7,11MB/s all 24 hours of a day? [editline]09:46PM[/editline] :raise:
Actually... yes :3:
I swear to god I am always in that 4% band no matter what I do.
Me too. And I suspect I have been penalised for "not learning my lesson", because now I get this 24/7, whether I download anything or not. I HATE VIRGIN. Try as I might, I can not convince my parents to switch ISP either.
Actually... yes :3:
And how the hell do you do that. If you are on your computer 12 hours a day (I hope you ain't on more...), and you constantly download, you'll be downloading at 14,22MBps, that is the same as 113,76Mbps, Which I don't think you have. Even if you download all 24 hours a day, you'll be having 56,88Mbps, which I don't think you have either.

Scandanavian countries are notorious for having ridiculously fast speeds.
He's Norwegian. Scandanavian countries are notorious for having ridiculously fast speeds.
I'm Norwegian too, but neither 200Mbps or 100Mbps is available yet AFAIK. Most I've heard of is 50Mbps.
I had a friend who went 80GB over his download limit, he had to pay a pound per GB over.
$50/month for 30mb/s with TWC. Unlimited of course. [editline]10:28PM[/editline] Tomato is hella useful.
I like Vnstati better http://sanzen.in/vnstati
Time Warner for me is $15 a month for these speeds.

It's only available in a certain region of our city though, the north and I'm in the south, they might move here later this month
Actually OP, my neighbour who is on Sky Base went over 2GB one month, and all she uses her connection for is webmail / eBay. She normally uses about 500mb a month (if that) and there was just this one freak month that was 2.1gb. :tinfoil: In other news, be glad you're on sky: Not to mention the constant drop-outs (including phone line, not just ADSL) and the customer support being bullshitty though.
