The Xbox 360's GPU is basically around ATI X1800 to X1950 in terms of GPU power. It shares 512 MB of GDDR3 RAM with the CPU, which is tri-core CPU using PowerPC architecture (same shit as in the old Apple computers).
Honestly, it's probably about as powerful as a mid-range gaming PC from 05/06. The only reason it can run all the high-end PC games is because they are heavily optimised for the console hardware (read: slightly cut down and certain graphical/physics features toned down or omitted).
The Xbox 360 doesn't even display at full HD resolution (1920x1080), it has to upscale from 1280x720.
When compared to a modern mid-range gaming PC (for example, an i5 with 4 GB of DDR3 RAM and say, an ATI 5770), the PC far outpaces the 360.
And if they use the argument that "hurf durf PC costs more", then just say "well, you can't use a 360 for schoolwork, photo/audio/video editing, heavy internet browsing, video chat, MAKING games, now can you?".
A gaming PC would cost about as much as an office PC and a 360 combined, so their argument is invalid.

I used to be a fanboy of the xbox 360, but now i see that it really takes the piss the money you gotta spend. £60 for the wireless adapter when I bought it, plus paying for Xbox LIVE. Then you gotta buy rechargable bttery packs seporate. The list goes on.
When you add it up, PS3 is cheaper. But the PC pwns all :downs:

Have you noticed the AA on Xbox? Its freaking horrible!
You do have to give the Xbox one think: Simplicity. Oh I wish that some games on the PC would be as quick and easy as plopping the disk into my DVD drive and the game starting up. No malware to deal with and no driver issues. No silly exclusive hardware features (PhysX on Nvidia).
I still prefer the PC though.

I showed the fan-boys I know Cod waw at max res with full AA and max settings. Then they said "well you can't use a controller", then plugged in my wired xbox controller and they had nothing to fucking say.
Have you seen the orange box on the xbox? The draw distance is about 3 feet, you get farther and the props disappear.

What do you mean? It's the same as any other AA. Except - as wiki informs me - it is practically free at up to 4x.

I know this, though the average consumer doesn't. I had to fix an HTC magic for a friend of my mother (Who's laptop was in the kitchen, where it should be) who's knowledge of computers was "*Points to itunes shortcut on desktop* I know how to get music on my iPod and *points to Azures Vuze* I know how to download TV shows". She owned a Wii, knows how to play games on that.
If there was a video game on a disk and I asked her to apply a No-CD patch she would probably give me a blank stare. You could start a Wii game while drunk with two shoes on your hands.
