The descriptions are off a line. "4GB SAMSUNG DDR3 DUAL-DDR3 1333MHz (2 X 2GB)" what a strange graphics card...
that would be an amazing gfx card! / scrarsms the desciptions point to the thing below it [editline]20th February 2011[/editline]
Build it yourself would be my clear answer. It's really easy, and parts can actually take alot more than you think. And why should it be hard to assemble a computer? There's simply no reason to make it hard, as there the chinese folks who assemble it, and the repair-folks to repair it. Alot people think "Oh, it's hard, so therefore we must send it to the repair-dudes! Otherwise we'll break something.", and they really fail to see the logic; why should it be hard? Is it hard to assemble an Ikea wardrobe? No. Is it possible to fuck something up? Yes. Do you do that? No. Not unless you're really a retard, or Michael J. fox. PC manufacturers wants to make it so simple to assemble a computer, that even their chinese workers can assemble them fast. So if a chinese under-payed worker can do it, why can't you? You can learn how to do it from looking up guides, and if it doesn't fit, it doesn't go there. Simply, just don't go in the bum, when there's another hole for it.
hey! cut out the racism! otherwise agree
Seriously OP, have a local shop build it. I bought a prebuilt BestBuy Asus "gaming" computer. Yeah sure it has 8GB of RAM but they don't tell you it is the slowest fucking RAM (669MHz) available.

Atleast it wasn't meant to be, hence the "under-payed" in the next sentence, but yeah, I hope I got the message across.

Not that it makes any difference, seeing it as 667MHz DDR2 vs DDR3 1066Mhz is pretty much just no difference what so fucking ever. The bare fact that you think any game actually use all your RAM, just renders your answer totally useless. Unless you're doing serious video rendering, 4GB is more than enough.
I was mainly just disappointed that it wasn't faster since it was labeled as gaming and I paid the price for a modern computer.
It makes next to no difference. And for the record, what's the rest of the specs and price? Gaming computer and bestbuy screams i5 650, 8GB RAM and a 5670.
[img_thumb]http://img543.imageshack.us/img543/1944/speccy.png[/img_thumb]
I really hope you didn't pay more than 700$ max for that thing. That's a fucking abomination. And the RAM is running at 1066Mhz. Use ~200$ on a GTX 460, and a good quality PSU. You have no reason to be angry over the RAM.
I think that OP has abandoned us OP, if you are still alive, buy IbuyPower or build it yourself.
I did. And what is wrong with the PSU? I think it is about 600
Probably low quality
Normally pre-builts comes with a horrible terrorist-grade PSU, so I'm just accustomed to say; change it. Yours may differ, but I doubt it.
Alright, but i will have to get at least 6 months use out of it or ill get shit form my parents.
There's something about building a computer that gives you that fuzzy feeling inside. I recently got a new CM 690 II case and even though my hardware stayed the same (apart from a 6870 to replace my 8800) apart from the case I still felt fuzzy inside when I finished all the cable management and it looked sexy. Mines 1333mhz and it says 509mhz on Speccy, although it's underclocked "I think", no idea why though;

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.591896 Add in a ~150$ GPU, and you got yourself a much better computer. It's DDR2, but there really ain't that much difference, other than price. DDR2 is way more pricey that DDR3. Are you running two different modules? One of them will underclock itself if the other one's slower.

What's your motherboard?
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's the motherboard. Some motherboards don't support setting the memory speed to a certain value by default. Not sure why though.
http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/gigabyte_gap31ds3l/ Very outdated, got it three years back with my E8200 & 8800 GTS, upgraded a few things since then but my CPU/motherboard remain the same. Been meaning to upgrade, but as it goes my computer is still fairly fast so I see no need to until later this year.
