I hate all the fucking scroll wheels that Logitech used for the G5 and the MX518. In gaming, I use scrolling a lot, especially clicking on the scroll wheel. There's some fucking glitch where it becomes very sensitive and touching the scroll wheel lightly makes it go batshit insane and scroll like 5 times. To fix, you have to click on the scroll wheel hard and scroll down hard as hell. It's so fucking annoying. I bought a G5 in hopes that this will be fixed. Now I have two problems. First, the G5 (blue one) scroll wheel clicking takes major effort. The scroll wheel doesn't click very easily. Also, the stupid scrolling glitch is still there, but not as apparent. Fuck, how do they not catch this shit during testing?
It's not a bug, it's a feature. That's one reason I bought sidewinder, big, clunky, metallic, fixed sensitivity scrollwheel.
I am considering buying that exact mouse somewhat soon. My Copperhead has served me well for two years, but it's starting to get worn down. Now the left mouse button has joined the right in not working all the time - it has a somewhat loose connection, so the clicking is glitchy. It might doubleclick or not click at all when pressed. It's really annoying and I don't have the money for a high-end mouse, so perhaps MX518?
It's not a bug, it's a feature. That's one reason I bought sidewinder, big, clunky, metallic, fixed sensitivity scrollwheel.
What. I think you misunderstood me. It would seem as if the scroll wheel was no longer "locked in place." Gah, whatever. Logitech is still the best in my opinion. They offer good prices, too.
I'm in love with my G9... It might look clunky, and painful to use, but it's not... Atleast if you don't have uberlarge hands... Bad things: The mouse wheel is painfully hard to click. A little pricy. Other than that it has like a ton of + features, like the ability to make the scroll wheel have almost no friction when scrolling... I seriously love this mouse! Wireless mice = Shit for gaming.
Wireless mice = Shit for gaming.
Who said shits about wireless mice?
I love this mouse, used for almost 2 years now. Still workning, only a bit dirty.
Nobody. I just thought I'd throw that out there.
I love this mouse, used for almost 2 years now. Still workning, only a bit dirty.
What mouse? The G9? Edit:
Nobody. I just thought I'd throw that out there.
Lol?
My bro has that mouse and sometimes when I'm reformatting or something else that is time consuming involving my computer, I'll sometimes swoosh onto his and I press the task switching button quite a bit in the middle of a game. That button annoys the hell out of me. Though, I'd probably get use to it after a while.
Do you have tiny hands? I honestly can't see how you can press it by accident...
Wireless mice = Shit for gaming.
Not the G7.
Had one mouse, it broke. Got another, it broke and the left click button took 500kg force to click it. Got the G5, not a problem since.
Nice bump you shit taco

I have a mx518 too, they rock
Wireless mice = Shit for gaming.
Not the Razer Mamba.
I owned a MX518 until I wore through the plastic on the left click side. Took a few years, but I managed it. Replaced it with another MX518. They're just that awesome. I was thinking about replacing the design in the mouse, but until I find something more suitable, it will remain as Logitec made it.
I've had MX518 for like 4 years now... And still works like a charm.
I've had 2 MX 518 for about 5 years. Still works damn great!
I have the exact same mouse, had it for 4 years. :iia: Although I forgot it ever had an install cd.
and despite how it looks, you will never press them by accident
I do, when I'm raping it while playing Osu or some other game where I have to move the mouse around much. [editline]fuuu[/editline] I just realised that I bumped an old thread, the OP linked it from this thread: http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=839357
LOL holy poop I remember this. Well if anyone cares it's still going strong :v: Got it going on a Razer Goliathus mousepad and it's saweet.
There's really no need for a $50 mouse. I got mine for only $9.99 and it seriously has all of those features. It has the two buttons on the side, and the normal left, right, and scroll wheel. It also has something called a Triple Threat button, as well as a button you press to change the DPI on the fly. Also it feels like velvet. Feels good man and a lot less than $50.

Let's see you even try a flick shot in q3 / ql with a $10 mouse without it failing to track and spinning your char around all funny.
I have the MX518, owned it for over a year with no problems and have no intention of replacing it any time in the forseeable future.
Let's see you even try a flick shot in q3 / ql with a $10 mouse without it failing to track and spinning your char around all funny.
I have no idea what any of that means, but it does 2500 DPI if that's what you're asking? Anyways enjoy your over-priced mouse.
I have no idea what any of that means, but it does 2500 DPI if that's what you're asking? I'd be willing to bet the whole $10 you spent on your mouse that yours would not be suitable for doing that.
Just to add something: The G5 comes with weights. I've found that to be pretty pointless. If I have a mouse which feels too light, I lean out of my window, cut some lead off of the roof and put it inside my mouse. It works and it makes the mouse feel much better.
I have no idea what any of that means, but it does 2500 DPI if that's what you're asking? Anyways enjoy your over-priced mouse.
If you're actually doing any gaming and you're not a garbage player, you will appreciate a high quality mouse. That being said, people who pay much over $50-60 are usually retarded/equally bad considering that the lower priced options like the Deathadder/G5/MX518 are superior.
I bought one of these barely a month ago. It works like a charm
You should hire a professional hand model next time. I was looking at getting a 518, they don't seem to have G5's anywhere any more, which I already have one but would like another one for my laptop. It's nice to have consistent button layouts.
