Don't just get a computer for the sake of it because you have a discount. Just wait. Save some money and build your own, good computer.
Listen to this guy, he has some common sense!
Don't get a Dell. Don't.
Add [sp]Minotour10[/sp] on Steam and I'll help you put together a nice rig within that money range.
Oh it's this kid. Don't bother with him he's a fucking (11 year old) fat faggot. He decided to give me his old Steam account and so I'm playing around with it when all of a sudden he tries to log in, so I change the password and email. Once I'm done and go back to my main, he starts spamming me telling me I better give him his "stolen" account back and that he has reported me to Steam. I tell him no and he gets his mom on Steam voice chat so she can yell at me to give it back.
Faggot.

Dell used to be very good back in like 200 for quality wise. But now those chinese have lower there quality lever to almost nothing.

On the contrary, I am quite well endowed with money and go through a new dell every 2 weeks

That's nothing, I go through a new Alienware every 36.4 seconds.
That's nothing, I go through a new Alienware every 36.4 seconds.
Sadly I only go though a acer every 3 weeks.

But you are not a Jedi yet
I get through a Hardcore-Computer every 2 seconds :smug:
you must be doing something wrong, with all the water sloshing around in them a part should get damaged before it arrives
I go through a Hardcore Computer every -2 seconds.
Trubritar used to build me PCs but he stopped because I broke like 50 of them last week

That reminds me, I've been wanting to build a computer with that kind of cooling. See how well it overclocks.
Heh, these are the computers we use in my school.
My school (or at least my CET class) uses computers with i7 920s and 6 GB RAM. Graphics are still terrible, they use HD3650s.
All the other classes use Optiplex 755s.
I have an XPS M1530. Now, one of the major problems with this laptop is that the GPU fan dies. So, I just hopped on the Dell website not more than an hour ago to get a repair and it took them 5 minutes from the start of the chat to put in a ticket for a repair specialist to come out to my house.
Last time I did this, I had dented my laptop accidentally and they even replaced the case. For desktops, build your own. For laptops, Dell is awesome. Their support is great, as long as you have warranties.
shit I'd kill for a single PC in my college with a 4650, I think there's like one room that have 8400s
they replaced half the PCs with ITX atom systems mounted on the back of the monitors, while it's nice to have more legroom you can certainly feel they're atoms
I love how everyone completely shitted up the thread immediately.
Let me try to give you something less biased, I personally built a computer for the first time about a year ago and find it to be pretty great, if it's feasible I'd highly recommend it.
As far as the Dell situation goes can you give us some more info, most importantly how big is the discount? Although people tend to exaggerate self-built computers are a much better value and may still be even with discounts.

I've been wanting to get an ITX system for months. Put it inside a PS2 slim or something.

if they were even I'd still build my own for the customisability and guaranteed quality control
if they were even I'd still build my own for the customisability and guaranteed quality control
I'm all for that but if it's not your money a lot of the time some strings come attached.
OK well I convinced her that dell isnt the answer, is anyone interested in helping me do a build? I have absolutely no idea whats good and whats bad in computers.
