Liquid Nitrogen.
If it overheats as soon as you turn it on, you probably don't have the heatsinks mounted right. Just letting you know the x-clamp fix is not a permanent fix at all, it could last only up to a day or a couple months. But at some point it will RROD again. You really need to reflow it properly to keep it from happening again. I would suggest doing a few cooling mods once you get it up and running again to try to keep it from happening as soon. Extending the fan shroud over the GPU and cutting the metal fan grills on the back of the case is a good start. Turned out good :) Considering doing something similar to the side of my pc case :downs:
Unless you guys can come up with another fix, my 360 is dead and I won't be buying a new one.
Is that duct tape over the sides? Heatsinks are mounted right, I know because I put Arctic Alumina on it along with tightening the screws until they wouldn't turn anymore without making a grinding noise. And there are washers on each side of the mobo for the screws.
Looks like electrical tape. Works better with heat and all that.
Makes me want to paint my PC.
Yeah, I might do it too. What colour should I make it? [editline]08:48PM[/editline] It's already black.
If you have an elite xbox you're definitely going to need to do a primer coat on the stuff that you plan on paiting another color. Otherwise it'll look dark and the color won't be right.
