Really? I thought boutiques like that, where you cherry pick all the components for your comp and then they put them all together for you (without watercooling and all the extras) would stress-test the computers properly before handing it to their customers... :/

My family bought a Alienware laptop for My dad, It's a pretty fast laptop for what it can do and it's pretty durable (I haven't tested it but hey my dad works in iraq for 10+ months in iraq every year so if it manages to survive that stuff it must be durable as hell)
I got an Alienware m15x for graduation about 2 years ago, I've had to send it in twice for repairs due to the monitor hinges cracking from constant opening/closing. It took MONTHS to get my computer back from their shitty support. Later it started to constantly overheat and turn itself off while playing games.
finally I caved in March of this year and built myself a decent desktop, the laptop was given to my sister and since she doesn't play games the laptop runs fine. It is still, however, an overpriced heap of plastic.
my question is: if you already have a decent desktop with which you play games, then why on earth do you feel the need to buy a gaming laptop as well? if I were you I'd buy a 13" laptop for mobile purposes and do all my gaming on my desktop.

Alienwares are good machines but they're priced insanely high because the main market that purchases Alienwares is people who dont have any clue how to build their own for half the price. To OP, I'd say look at other gaming laptops because Alienware is shit-tier as far as prices go, but I dont have a lot of experience with gaming laptops specifically so I couldnt point you in any specific direction.
But dont be extremely detoured from purchasing an Alienware, just be aware that you're forking over a hell of a lot more cash than you need to.
