Urgh just read some more user reviews. What I mean is all the plastic crap on them snaps off with very little effort
I recently got a NZXT Lexa S, so far I like it MUCH BETTER than my old Antec 300. it's quieter, has somewhat lower temps (just by 1~2C), and is more sturdy (dropped my Antec's side panel and it dented, did the same with the Lexa S and not a scratch). sure the plastic door shows finger prints but with the lighting in my room it's not even noticeable. plus I got for for $40 with a $10 rebate it was steal in my opinion.
Its a nice case and i was thinking about getting it, but I become less keen of the front panel every time I look at it.
It's not exactly "clean"
"clean"?
"Clean" like Antec 300 pretty much is. But yeah, everyone has their own opinion :v:
Yeah it seems to be what people would call "ricer" but I think its quite nice, Especially if the lights on the side are only dim. I like cases with a nice ambient light, but not a huge lightshow.
you can not plug in the front lights. I only plugged in the top light since the bottom two looked dumb.
wouldn't it be cool with a case in glass?
Heres a bump, and actually I'm going to defend this case and the quality.
If you went and read the reviews you'd see that people have been complaining about parts not fitting correctly, bits snapping off and defective power buttons. You wouldn't get these problems with a coolermaster case
I didnt read any about bits snapping off. But be careful with your shit. Don't assume these cases use quarter inch steel anymore. The power buttons, I can fix that. There is not much work behind all that anyways. Worse case, I bitch at newegg.. send it back overnight ($10, how can you not?). They send it back to me overnight, and boom.. we're back in business 3 days later.
It's not exactly "clean"
Not what I wanted. It has an ugly plexiglass window on the side. Overdoing it on the blue (Any blue is over doing it. Too widely used). This case has what I want. I mean, might not be no sleek, shiny black with the right curves and the right edges. But it's not like the 300/900/1200 case series, where everyones new build has one.
You bought an NZXT case and are complaining about build quality. You got what you deserved
I was complaining more on component quality. The case itself is great. I mean the metal could be a little thicker.. but for $70, who am I to complain?
Urgh just read some more user reviews. What I mean is all the plastic crap on them snaps off with very little effort
I'm going to have to wait till winter. The cold is the worst for plastic. So look at the dates, if its in a winter month.. the weather could've played a factor in it. But cheap plastic will always remain cheap plastic. Nothing a little super glue, and TLC can't handle. I am also going to say these fan controllers suck. Or these fans suck, or I suck at configuring the fan controller. It turns out, that the side 200 fan only performs at about 600RPM. A tad bit slow for me, since I'm finishing up burning in my components for overclocking, I'm going to need the airflow. But the damn thing is really quiet. I just wish I could get these fans to work at their maximum speed, or at least, adjust them.
Also no problem, glad you are pleased with it. Just one question, do you think it was worth the money?
Definately.
wouldn't it be cool with a case in glass?
Why bother, just use Acrylic/Plexiglass. I actually put 2 6" red cathodes near the side panels, had to modify one of the riser backplates on the i/o panel to handle the light switches. No major complaints though, nothing a dremel can't do.
what was the point in that, I mean really. That entire post served no purpose whatsoever the case is a ricer piece of shit, period. also red cold cathodes are you kidding me hahaha
what was the point in that, I mean really. That entire post served no purpose whatsoever the case is a ricer piece of shit, period. also red cold cathodes are you kidding me hahaha
It's not a fucking ricer. Period.
It's not a fucking ricer. Period.
Shiny black plastic with red LEDs all over.... Meets my definition, at least.
It's not a fucking ricer. Period.
yeah it is, it also costs $70 [editline]08:48PM[/editline] 68 [editline]08:49PM[/editline] so there's really no point in buying that case with the CM 690 II Basic at $70 with free shipping
Shiny black plastic with red LEDs all over.... Meets my definition, at least.
No. Barely any plastic on this case. Also, it comes with 1 dim LED front fan. That's so many! And I did mention the CM 690 in my first post. I leave it to preference for what they want to buy. I bought the Hades over the CM 690 advanced and don't regret it.
Shiny black plastic with red LEDs all over.... Meets my definition, at least.
There's one red LED on it...thats totally opinionated how good or bad it looks. So don't try to pull that out of a book of facts. Good lord. Why is the PC Building section so damn ignorant?
Antec 500. I love mine.
look at it, it's fucking glossy plastic with some low quality steel. How is that even comparable to a CM 690 II?
I know, its a rough comparison of the two, but it is a nice case nonetheless. Honestly, I think it should be a bit cheaper because of the materials used. But you have to consider that it is thick layered plastic. Not just a thin sheet.

K. Why?

It just so happens that when it comes to cases such as the Level 10 or something equally stupid, everyone has the same opinion.
If you have carpet, a pet , or people constantly running around in your computer area... DON'T buy a computer case with mesh in it, i don't care how badass it looks. The thing will suck up enough dust in a month you'll think it became a unique lifeform.
Decent cases have dust filters, if the NZXT doesn't then that's just another example of there poor quality
Decent cases have dust filters, if the NZXT doesn't then that's just another example of there poor quality
The Hades came with numerous dust filters. I can snap a pic if needed.
Decent cases have dust filters, if the NZXT doesn't then that's just another example of there poor quality
my Lexa S has a dust filter for the front fan.
HAF 922
HAF 922 ALL THE WAY. I have one and I absolutely love it. Besides looking like a piece of military equipment, it has great airflow; I switched from my old case to the HAF 922, and system temps went down 15 degrees celsius. Plus, the front fan has red LED's that you can turn on or off. It's your case, bro.

Not to hijack the thread, but I have a question about the Coolermaster CM 690 II cases. Is there a chart with clear differenses between the basic, lite and advanced versions?
