How bout a better dual core and a 5750 but other wise probably the gpu because if you wait longer you can get a much better cpu.
that's kind of what I had in ming, just get the 5750 and OC my current CPU until I can get a new CPU/Motherboard/RAM. [editline]06:51PM[/editline]
There's no res (1366x768) that works better on your TV? How are you connected to it? [editline]01:49AM[/editline] Why does he need a 5750 for 1024x768?
TV maxes at 1024x768, and once my roommate gets a new monitor he might give me his current one which maxes at 144x900
Just get a new mobo and DDR3 RAM. [editline]01:26AM[/editline] At least wait for 32nm.
You mean the new 6 core 980X? The ones that sell for $900+? Yeah, I'm not that crazy...
Pentium Dual Core E6300 2.8ghz MSI G31TM-P21 HIS HD 4670 512mb GDDR3 4gb DDR2 800mhz CoolMax 600watt 160 WD HDD 320 Seagate HDD external Resolution 1024x768 (42 inch Samsung plasma TV has terrible resolution) should I get a 5750? or get a Q9300 then eventually get a new gpu?
I'd go for a better CPU first, you'll be bottle necking pretty much anything higher than the GPU you have now with what you have.
No, they'll be coming out with more 32nm CPUs down the road including HT quads, plus it'll drive down the price of the 45nm parts.
so what do I do then? get a CPU now or later?
so what do I do then? get a CPU now or later?
Uhh I would go later and then when you have the budget get an i5 or something. Also I have the 5750 perfect for 1440 by 900 gaming I haven't found a game I can't max.

I could use some advice on which hard drive to upgrade to...I haven't bought a Hard Drive in years, and I believe it is time for an upgrade. Currently I have a Western Digital Raptor WD740GD which is about 5-10 years old. This HDD has 74GB storage at 10,000 RPM. I use this HDD primarily for my main files and OS. I have two other HDD's for personal stuff and games. http://www.storagereview.com/articles/200311/20031111WD740GD_1.html I've been looking at the VelociRaptor 150GB 10,000 RPM. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136296 Also, I really don't trust any other manufacturer than Western Digital as I've had bad experiences with other manufacturers, especially Hitachi...
When was the last time you defragged? If I were you, I'd go 2x1TB 7200RPM. You could short stroke them for less storage capacity but VelociRaptor-rivaling performance. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/short-stroking-hdd,2157.html
That sounds awesome, but I'm not sure I want to try that... Thanks for the advice though! btw I try and defrag every month.
I'd say go with 2x 1TB aswell, as with vanilia vista x64 ulti I did an average of 270MB/s read on 500kB files and 240 MB/s on 1MB files Now i've got 1.3TB of space left, and it's still loading incredible fast.

Not really a building question, but I would prefer to ask here than make a new thread. Anyway, I am trying to find a laptop, for around $1000 (can be a little over), that can play some games. I found this one for $1049, and I would like to see if any of you guys know a better deal than that.
Seeing as I didn't get any real help in my last thread (all I got was "Buy an ATI" (but no telling which one) and "Buy some more RAM"), I'd thought I'd ask here. Specs: Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 32-bit (6.1, Build 7600) Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8500 @ 3.16GHz (2 CPUs), ~3.2GHz Memory: 2048MB RAM Available OS Memory: 2046MB RAM Page File: 1500MB used, 2638MB available DirectX Version: DirectX 11 Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT I have a budget of about £200, and it will be my birthday in exactly 2 months, so I would like to get something for my computer. Any ideas of what would be good?

So what you should do first is get like a athlon x4 620 and update your bios then you can upgrade your cards also get a 64 bit os before the card upgrade.
Might as well just build a new PC and use the PSU and mobo in it.
What's a good Router I could get that's compatible with BT? At a reasonable price that is.
