This was done on the iPhone/iPod Touch but it was laggy as fuck.
it's still laggy as fuck on the iPad :raise:
Too bad it runs in an emulation mode. Would be nice if it is capable of running natively
I really like this, but it's still laggy as hell. I think i'll wait for Microsoft to come up with something better.

No where near as bad.
but still bad.
just because rat shit is smaller than cat shit, doesn't make it any less shit (in terms of contents not quantity)

Hahaha.
Did Windows 95 have touch features?
You can use an ELO touch screen on DOS / Windows 3.1 with the proper TSR
I've tried to run Windows 95 on my PSP once, it's quite similar to what their doing... Except the PSP takes a few minutes to boot up.
The PSP is older and cost a lot less.
It's still an Ipad though...

I don't think there's any version of Windows ever ported to ARM, sadly :/

You could probably see ReactOS though. But really seeing something that's been in Alpha stages for 12 years isn't fun in the least.

ReactOS on x86 runs pretty well at this point. I could see an ARM port running pretty well.

There's already an arm port.
Wasn't iPhone 3GS already running Windows XP?
If so, why are they running the older Windows 95 on the iPad?
No.
It seems that DosBox is ported to anything nowadays.
Not to mention this shot in the wind speculation: http://www.techradar.com/news/phone-and-communications/other-phones/will-windows-8-run-on-arm-processors--683227
lol

Because the iPad has an ARM CPU, while Windows 9x is for x86 CPUs. The ARM has to emulate x86 instructions, which is really slow. You could run Windows XP through emulation, but it would be even slower and useless because you couldn't do anything productive with it.

tbh I think it is possible. I can see Apple jumping onto ARM eventually for their laptops too and IMO it'd be good if MS did too, especially since the NT kernel is meant to be quite portable IIRC
- Windows CE = ARM. Development tools are on trial and cost almost nothing
- Windows 95 PSP project had a final boot time of 45 seconds on a Slim and light
- Pro Hint for the Developer Use windows 3.1/95/98 in dosbox hack it's about 10 times faster
- Even if windows 8 goes arm it can still only run programs of his own architecture making it even way more useless then any Linux OS. As that has easy recompiling of programs to any architecture and a giant database of already ported programs
You can still get adobe flash for windows 95...
You can run 95 inside 95 inside 95 :D
The only reason to buy one, which i'm not going to do.

Yeah because Microsoft would totally just drop everything else and make a ARM only Windows :downs:
There's already an arm port.
I know, I just haven't tried it.
About the same as Windows 95.
My vista Laptop has a touchscreen and it worked very nicely.
Isn't this running on Bochs?
Bochs is anything but fabulous, I'm actually surprised the iPad can run Win95 so well with it.
It's going to be real cool like 6 years from now when the tables are cheap and easily capable of this kind of stuff.
Quick, make it run flash and netscape!
Hahah that's pretty cool. (It'd be pretty cool to have steam, and be chatting with friends on the iPad you have to admit, although Steam probably doesn't even support 95)
Imma wait for the hp slate & (alleged) Google Tablet
