460 sli ?
460 sli?
no
get a single 470 if you are going to use two 460's.
more like 480 if you're getting two cyclones
Relax, no SLI for now. Just one good card and I might add another later on when gaming tech passes me by. Thanks so much for the help, it totals to a little bit over $1000 but I decided that it's worth it since this will last for several years.
PLEASE do not suggest AMD CPUs or ATI cards.
Oh look it's Axiom 2.0
Oh look, I already said I didn't mind ATI cards. I do know a friend who loves them. But I know nothing about AMD CPUs and I just don't want to work with anything I don't know. Plus, I know firsthand what an i7 can do. I don't know anything about AMDs [editline]10:02PM[/editline] And I didn't buy an i7 extreme like he says he did. WHO SPENDS A THOUSAND DOLLARS ON A GUDDAMN PROCESSOR!?

It's safety. Maybe a little ignorance, I concede that, too, but I just want this thing to go right, and I know the i7 works, I know it is reliable, and it's what Apple uses. Now I know that most of you consider it proof that it is bad, but it works for me now, why should it stop anytime soon?
Oh look it's Axiom 2.0
some people can have preferences.
some people can have preferences.
Preferences that lead you to spending $700 more on a processor than you should for two extra cores? Sure, some people can have preferences, but nobody should. Also, the 'extreme' i7 is only .03ghz faster than the normal i7 six core. For $100. Batshit insane.
Wait, are you bashing me because of the CPU I purchased? Well. I actually get half off on all intel products so I decided to go for it, and the extreme edition is slightly different because it has an unlocked multiplier, aswell as some difference with the L2 and L3 caches.
only valid reason to not go with ATI is because of drivers [editline]04:10AM[/editline]
Preferences that lead you to spending $700 more on a processor than you should for two extra cores?
do you get it now? Do I not need to explain that he paid $500 for it for the hundredth time?
You sure have a strange way of keeping track. By my count it's two.
Why are you such a horrible poster? Do you do it on purpose or are you really this stupid?
Why are you such an obstinate guy (that spreading horrible posts too sometimes)? You really should chill down
Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130298&cm_re=lga_1156-_-13-130-298-_-Product Cheaper, same features. And that 460 doesn't look like it's gonna be very effective at cooling itself in SLI. Buy this instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500169 2X DVI and 2X HDMI, instead of two gay VGA and only one HDMI (Not that you need 2 DVI and two HDMI outputs, but you don't need two VGA either.)
The cyclone has much better cooler than that^
Fair enough, it was only something that I assumed that it wouldn't cool very sufficient in SLI, but still, those VGA ports :barf: Woops, it's just blue-coloured DVI ports, rate me bad reading. I just looked at the picture.
Why are you such an obstinate guy (that spreading horrible posts too sometimes)? You really should chill down
as far as I'm concerned, the only "horrible" posts I've ever made were in the headphone megathread
