Actually they say it should retail for around $150. I totally believe it seeing as the Obsidian 700D is going for $180 with rebate. I got my 800D from Microcenter for $210, it was normally $280. Before you know it Microcenter will have it on sale for $100.
Yeah I have a somewhat local Microcenter.... only time I went there was when I thought pre-builts were good. Lol. But shit they have good prices.... the same GTX460 build on Newegg cost as much as a GTX470 build on microcenter. THAT, MY FRIENDS, IS FUCKING AWESOME.
You made it to the Computer illiteracy-thread! Bragging?
again
I would like to know why you are using the HAF922 and not the HAF932 for this build. A full tower case is nice to have for major builds. But yes, the HD5970 does fit in the HAF922 according to newegg reviews. You could also wait a bit and get the Corsair 600T, nicest mid-tower case I have seen in a while. The hard drive cage is movable for even larger cards. It has 2 200mm and a 120mm fan in it. A great system for wire management that keeps it neat and simple. You can access the back of the motherboard while its in place. It also has a built in fan controller. It also has USB 3.0 ports on the front of the case.
922 is sturdier.
922 is sturdier.
I don't think so. They have similar construction, but I think the Corsair is nicer. It has a painted interior and really good wire management. The 922 isn't sturdier, they are basically the same. Plenty of steel in each.
Why would people even buy a 5970? It overheats, it's overpriced, and it's simply terrible.

The new series of Deathstar doesn't fail that quickly.

The 5970 is a double GPU card, so I just wondered why you don't just bought two 5850 to put in in CF for 100$ less and just OC them to a little... It would be around the same speed and cost hundred bucks less...
Last I heard Deskstars had an unreasonably high failure rate, whether they fixed it since I heard these things, I don't know, I personally would just shy away from those.
That was with an older model, the more recent ones work fine.

And I seriously raged about the PSU and the watercooling system. [editline]03:14PM[/editline] That's why I hate rich people. They buy always the most expensive components because they believe it would be better.

Yes, and when you have an 30" monitor too (but which is too expensive nowadays), but people doesn't have usually the money for when they throw already their money like OP did. And cleary it depends of the games. Source games, every settings maxed on Eyefinity setup, can be played with 5850/5870 by example. And Metro 2033 is bad optimized on DirectX 11, and beat the shit out of every graphic card we know. But you can play at this game, on Direct X9-10 (everything maxed out), with +40fps with an single 4850-4870.
I've always wanted to get a 22" monitor nothing bigger, nothing smaller. 22 seems just perfect to me. Buy me one, thx.

If one was concerned with DX9, one would play it on an Xbox/PS3 with awesome blurry upscaled rasterization. No thanks.
The new series of Deathstar doesn't fail that quickly.
a modern seagate is more likely to fail than a modern deskstar back in like 2001 the Deskstar drives gained a bad reputation because they kept failing, people still calling them deathstars are just the remnants of an old bandwagon, much like modern vista haters and btw it was just the Deskstar 75GXP (when the Deskstar series was manufactured by IBM, not Hitachi) that would fail so regularly,

Maybe 2560 res but it's insanely too expensive for 9/10 of people, so, who cares?

When I could play the game last, I was getting 30+ FPS with CrossFire.
30+ with crossfire, and issues! 10.6 ftl
30+ with crossfire, and issues! 10.6 ftl
basically, but I'm not using 10.6 and why do you come on FP and post and shit and you're not on Steam but when you respond to me on Steam you're not on FP

huh I have the 10.6 drivers and have not run into any issues on my 5870. Infact I get better framerates using them....
huh I have the 10.6 drivers and have not run into any issues on my 5870. Infact I get better framerates using them....
10.6 is bad for CFx 4800 series.
