Look at his resolution. 4850 is underpowered for that.
It does 1680x1050 for me just fine. 1920x1080 isn't that much more.
that's not even the point, you pay more for graphics cards to get more performance. If that wasn't the case we wouldn't have 50 different graphics cards from each company
I know newer cards are "faster". I'm just saying that he isn't going to see $300 worth of "faster".

yes, yes he will
4850 is still a good card and can handle almost anything
Except it doesn't handle things like it used to. I have (had up until about 2 weeks ago, it kicked the bucket) a 4850 is enough to handle modern games, but it doesn't perform nearly good enough to justify not changing it. Especially at 1920x1080. If he has the money and wants to upgrade then he should. The card won't last much longer.
yes, yes he will
I second this. I can imagine a 4850 to a GTX 470/GTX 460/ 5850/ GTX 295 would be noticeable. Heck, maybe even a 4850 to a 4890 might be noticeable.

1680x1050= 1764000
1920x1080= 2073600
Difference= 15.0316%
Isn't alot more, but it's something.
Or get another 4850 for now and upgrade to the HD 6*** series when its released.
