500W will run most if not all single card setups, unless you have like 10 HDDs and 20 fans
I'm just trying to future-proof myself. If 500W will deliver, then go ahead and find a good ~$50 case+psu. I'm trying to stay under $400. I was originally at $220 but things changed, and that's not great. :/
That psu can power a 4870.

That 600w you picked out is worse than the 500w reap posted.
you're asking the impossible
if you can't find room in your budget for a good PSU, MAKE ROOM because the PSU is the single worst thing you can cheap out on

and it IS future proof unless you add in a second graphics card or 20 HDDs
You don't NEED a 600W PSU. If you run a Mobo, CPU, Graphics-Card, 2HDD's, and 3fans, you'll end up needing about 500W. A shit 750W PSU at 60% Efficiency will run at 410W about. A 550W at 80% will run at 410W.
Not to mention Single-Rail 12V, vs 2+.
How's this for a PSU (If I remember right Rosewill is a good mfg) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182017
And case

Also I'm on a REALLY tight budget, I'm actually trying to get down to about $300 right now
Well looks like I'm gonna go with that triple core. Sorry for doubting you guys, I'm just a bit excited :p
Swapped the mobo to this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813135234 drops the price but keeps the AM3 support and DDR2 4 slots
Here's the build now

rosewill is incredibly shitty
I still don't get how it is that people always manage to find rosewill, out of the dozens of shitty brands they always find a rosewill

the 500W coolermaster is the best you will find, it's the best budget PSU on newegg

Just found a 500W thermaltake, check the wishlist I edited into the post above yours to see. Gotta go do some yardwork now

Why did you include thermal paste?

For the CPU?
It is not necessary. The stock heatsink comes with some and it does a pretty good job of cooling. I have that CPU and it is currently at 26C.

this combo still comes out $5 cheaper than the PSU+Case in the wishlist, and you're getting a better built case (without those horrible built in standoff bump things) which also has the bonus of not looking like an elephant's arse

Done and done, holy shit I'm tired from yardwork. Fucking weedeating first, then picking up 40lb logs and moving them 80ft away x10, then organizing a shitload of pots while it's 95 degrees Fahrenheit outside
