Is There A Way I Can Hack A Wireless Router Key On The Psp?

I'm not gonna debate the morality of hacking wireless networks, but I gotta say it's an interesting thing to learn and experiment with. It makes you more aware of how easy it is for someone to break into your network which you previously thought was pretty secure.

WEP keys are really easy to crack - you just need to capture thousands of wireless packets close to the network generating them, which takes half an hour or so, maybe less, depending on how many clients are connected to the network. Once you have enough packets you run a cracking program which gets the WEP key from all the captured ethernet frames.

WPA however, is harder to crack, but you can do the actual cracking away from the network. Home networks use PSK/TKIP, which is possibly crackable. Businesses tend to use 'Radius' which is a lot, lot harder to crack. You only need a few specific packets - you wait 'til someone with the key connects to the network, and use packet injection to temporarily kick them off the net for a few seconds. When they reconnect with the router they send a 'handshake'. That handshake contains the WPA-PSK key. You then use cracking software to match the key against a huge dictionary of possible passwords (yeah, you bruteforce it). Basically, if the key is a random mix of letters and numbers, you ain't gonna get it any time soon. If it's a proper word (like someone's name) you may crack it.

I'm not gonna link you to the software you need, or explain it past those principles, since it is technically illegal, and everyone here is right - don't steal other people's internet. I've cracked my mate's and a couple people's down my road (and my own), but I never use their networks. It's pretty pointless when I have a better ISP than most of them (fuck BT, probably spying on their packets, and probably surreptitiously blocking torrents). You may find a PSP version of aircrack somewhere. It'd be really fucking slow to use on a PSP mind.

Using newer WEP attacks, it's possible to crack WEP in less than 5 minutes I think.
