Well looks like my college is in the MSDN AA programme, so I'll just get it from there.
can you get 32bit from this or is it 64 only?
Damn it, we Germans can only get home premium :(
Professional edition is too violent for you.
i get it for free from hp after buying a computer for 400$ that should have been 1000$ life is good. [editline]12:16AM[/editline]
Yeah, it's bullshit. I can't perform a clean install (and I honestly don't feel like upgrading my Vista since there are so many useless files, and a clean install would just start me off fresh).
if they gave you an iso file, it would be very easily re-distributed
can you get 32bit from this or is it 64 only?
You can get 32-bit or 64-bit.
if they gave you an iso file, it would be very easily re-distributed
Like that has stopped anyone from making a .iso file for themselves.
You can get 32-bit or 64-bit.
Thanks, think i might buy it then, time to upgrade from XP!
Thanks, think i might buy it then, time to upgrade from XP!
Be ready for an .exe headache. I had to convert mine to a bootable .iso and then burn it to a CD. Check out the rest of this thread. But the good news is it works now!
Yea i did get an headache, i tried doing it from a clean install but it wasn't taking my CD KEY / Product Key, so have reinstalled windows xp, then just upgraded and its took it, Anyone know if i can delete the 2gb xp folder? If not, no worrys

I deleted my Windows.old folder with no consequences.
Yea i done a bit of googling aswell and used 7's Disc Cleanup tool to get rid,
Yep, my school is having such a thing. But we have to visit the IT office place and they'll do it to you.
Ha yes, they accepted my .sch.uk email.
I really want to get Windows 7 but I don't want to buy it from Digital River if it's only going to let me upgrade my Vista installation. I want to be able to do a clean install - as in reformat and then install. Is that possible with their "Home Premium Upgrade - 32 bit"?

If you're in the UK, go to school and want Office there is: http://www.software4students.co.uk/ That's the standard version with 2 licenses for £35. Not too bad. I hope it's legit. It seems almost too good to be true.

:siren:READ THIS POST:siren: DO NOT GO THROUGH DIGITAL RIVER, I REPEAT DON'T GO THROUGH THEM. I order through them and it ended up in a huge mess. They never sent my disks even though I payed for them and the download never worked. Horrible company and customer service Solution Call the Microsoft at 1-877-MY-MSSTORE (1-877-696-7786) and say to the person on the phone "I would like Microsoft 7 home premium (or professional if your getting that) with the student discount please. They should say okay and will ask you for the billing information etc. If they just say go to the site or I can't do it call again and get another person. Eventually you will get a person who will let you use the discount. Its better to go through the phone because A. Don't deal with digital river B. Its the Full version So save yourself a huge hassle and just call the number and go through there.
Thanks to above poster, I haven't received my disk copy yet, even though I pre-ordered about a month ago. Calling the number now. edit: that was useless, i thought it would be customer support or something. edit: nevermind, i just didn't listen to all the options, thanks. edit: she said i had to call digital river for further assistance, fuck edit: the lady at digitalriver told me she would contact the courier, because it's still in transit, fucking fuck.

They should be able to give you one if you say you had problems with downloading etc. They shouldn't hassle you but they might.
One License per student correct? I can't put Win 7 on my laptop after installing it on my desktop?
One License per student correct? I can't put Win 7 on my laptop after installing it on my desktop?
Legally no you can't, but logically, yes you can as for some reason you can just ask for a new activation key...say your motherboard died or something, I believe that triggers the activation program. Sweet, would this work in the UK and is the number free? (I'm cheap)
I believe the number was free for me (In the U.S). You can try and call them, not sure about UK but it SHOULD work out for you.
