It's true! Avast does enough for me. I run adware/spyware scans as well once every blue moon and it doesn't pick up anything other than tracking cookies so I figure I'm doing all right.
I use Avast and run regular scans with MBAM. I remember my days with Windows ME... Blissful and care-free... until we caught the Loveletter Worm and had to upgrade to XP.
The only reason everyone screams that 'linux doesn't get viruses' is because you'd need root to get past all the write-protection. However.....sudo porn.deb :(
I just use my macbook pro
The main reason Macs don't get viruses is because no one gives a crap enough to make viruses for them. It's not worth the effort.
The main reason Macs don't get viruses is because no one gives a crap enough to make viruses for them. It's not worth the effort.
I assume it's because it's hard to create a virus in a mac environment. But I'm not sure?
I assume it's because it's hard to create a virus in a mac environment. But I'm not sure?
I think with time anything can be broken into, but macs are a minority and hackers probably want to do as much damage as possible. Its like shooting, aim for the center of mass (Windows) cause its a bigger target, a lot harder to hit their head (OSX), although this analogy sucks because OSX is anything but a head, more like a schlong, a tiny one at that.
