Ok...This has been happening for awhile now. About a week. My download speed was a normal 700kb/s. I have a 12.0mb/s connection. It still says I have that connection speed but now I'm not even get 1KB a second! It's a steady .5 or .8 kb/s. About 3 days ago it was 118 which was still very slow compared to what I had before but I could deal with that. This is just fucking ridiculous. Is someone stealing my fucking bandwidth? What the fuck is going on? I can load pages and everything just fine but when I try to download something I just can't do it. I have another computer hooked up to my router but its not using the internet. Is there anyway I can check to see what is going on and how to prevent it?? And yes I already called my ISP and they said everything is fine...

Are you torrenting anything? When you are downloading, is it only from one site or anywhere?

I'm not torrenting anything. It's download from a site. I've been fucking with Internet Cyclone and HiJack This and now I'm running a scan with AVG and I'm going to run House Call. This is just completely fucking ridiculous. Also running Rootkit Buster.
12Mb/s? you should have way more than 700KB/s in the first place.
You should have like 1,4MB/s.

it depends on were you're downloading from
a 200MB/s connection doesnt mean shit if the server wont support it

What site, The server's probably shit and it's not a problem on your end.
Are you absolutely sure that its not the server you are downloading from ?
If you could only download with .5kb/sec your own avatar would take 14seconds to load..

I'm more then sure. Like I said my DL speed has been slowly decreasing over the last week. I've download a file just today that was 6mbs and it took somewhere between 5 and 7 minutes. I'm also trying to update a steam game and I'm getting 80kb/s...

If your speed is substantially lower than it should be on this, you've got a problem. If it's not, then it's probably just the external servers.

Yes. I got it because I wanted to download faster. So far its only helped alittle...Trying speedtest.net now.
