Yeah tell us.
What did they do and what did you do?
Oh man I wish my school did this. First I'd make a simple fork loop and set it to startup on login with msconfig, set it to autologin on startup then disable USB ports and PS/2 ports and reboot, Go into bios and set the multiplier to x1 then startup my popcorn .gif's and wait.
Boot in safe mode Solve problem
Take that cpu and bend the shit out of the pins.
What did he do goddammit?
Set the homepage to nimp.
Set the homepage to wikipedia to make the teachers rage [editline]28th October 2010[/editline] every single computer
Boot into safe mode, move the registry flat-files from the folder they reside in. Repair process: boot back into safemode, move back (overwrite as necessary). If it doesn't boot the first time, copy the flat-files from the repair directory into the current registry directory AFTER moving the current registry flat-files out.
3 Rounds - 25 minute to set up - 25 minutes to fix - 5 different teams of 3 people. This was written sloppily and some stuff isn't in the right order. Round 1 - Hardware My Team:
Pull out the power switch on the Psu, put it in wrong way. Turn Psu off, so that now it looks like it's on. Will drive them batshit insane.
I really liked this idea. This took the longest to pull off, but we actually did it. We kind of got in trouble for it though because the professor thought we broke the PSU, thank god when we put it back together it worked fine.
Flick PSU voltage switch.
This too. Then on the case we detached the wires for the power button rendering it useless if they fixed the other few things. -They did not solve it in time. Or knew what the fuck was going on. Their Team: Took out our CPU and put the heatsink back on and switched the memory around. - Took about 2 minutes to solve Round 2 - Software My Team:
disable usb ports and mouse and keyboard port
This and
You could always resort to the classics... Screenshotting the desktop, setting it as the background, and removing icons... Tape under the mouse...
- They were stumped. Had no idea what was going on. Their Team: They disabled explorer.exe and changed the resolution to something ridiculously unreadable. -Solved within about first 5 minutes Round 3 - Both (30 Minutes each) My Team: Repeated round 2 because they were different teams Removed the Hard Drive from the boot list Removed case power switch cables and to fuck with them even more the lab we were in we took the VGA cable from the adjacent monitor, hooked it up to the one they were using, but made it look like it was still plugged in all normal like and turned the other monitor off. My parters idea. -They didn't figure out why the monitor wouldn't turn on until the last 5 minutes but then they ran into even more errors. They got disqualified anyways because they had a laptop set up and the fuckers recorded us with a webcam messing with their computer. Still couldn't figure it out though. Their Team: Installed a shit ton of viruses and changed the boot list and unplugged a bunch of shit within the case. -Viruses took a while to remove, but super easy to fix. Sorry if this was at all a little confusing. Long day and long class and I know I didn't do a lot of the ideas listed on here, but thanks to this thread I got an automatic A on my midterm and the whole class pretty much hates everyone in my team, but I don't give a fuck. Thank you for all the ideas! [editline]28th October 2010[/editline] Oh yeah since Halloween is coming up this is my professor and two retarded kids in another team Hes a fuckin badass.
You destroyed them. Good Job. Also they are quite stupid aren't they?
You destroyed them. Good Job. Also they are quite stupid aren't they?
Indeed! Thank you everyone though. Seriously. Couldn't have done it without you.
This too. Then on the case we detached the wires for the power button rendering it useless if they fixed the other few things.
Er, couldn't that have really broken something? But, congrats on winning!
If you cant delete system 32, how about you move it somewhere else ;)
Naw all the computers worked perfectly at the end.
Excellent.
