Work on a laptop.
This missing POST beep. Friend's PC doesn't get the POST beep and therefore doesn't boot. He's had the motherboard replaced, PSU checked and bought a new i5. Shame it was the fact he forgot the 8pin CPU Power Socket mistaking it for PCI-E Power.
My BIOS no longer beeps. It'll suck when something bad comes along.
I'm smart enough and I have got this thing.
But many games won't work without registry entries.
Go to registry. Find entries for said game. Dump registry tree. Merge. I used to do that back when I had programs that required that bullshit. Something that still worked like steam games I would dump the registry so I wouldn't have to change my graphics configuration.
whenever I end up installing a bunch of hardware i mysteriously cut myself and then wonder "how the fuck did that happen and i hope i didn't get blood on anything"

Thanks, this is good idea, I will surely use it.

Sometimes I wonder if blood can be used as thermal paste.

There's flecks of it on my CPU now :ohdear:
That's my biggest complaint with Windows 7. I can understand that it's to help computer illiterate users, but to not provide an easy way to disable it or remove the settings it applies is stupid.
Specially when the flipping program is actual compatible with Windows 7.
Another thing: when I make a system image using Windows Backup, then try to restore from it and IT DOESN'T FUCKING WORK.

That's a coolermaster storm scout by the way.
Also, trying to unzip something to somewhere but it failing because of administrative privileges.
Oh, and two bugs in Windows that drive me up the wall and will probably never be fixed:
- Safely Remove Hardware refusing to disconnect flash drives even though nothing is accessing them
- Files that randomly disappear from Explorer but are still visible and accessible in other programs
When you try to clear some stuff off your computer, you come across a file that says "Could not be found" or some other bizarre message. Then you have to run Check Disk to get rid of it.

I know it isn't necessary, I just got into the habit a long time ago.
Useless bundled software pre-installed on a new laptop.
When i install new parts, the floppy drive melts and the whole room is full of burning rubber smelling smoke
When i've just spent 7 hours on something then "*program name* has encountered a problem and needs to close"

you can update the bios through flash drives

I thought some of the earlier BIOS's/Mobo's didn't support flashing via USB?
Whenever I open up CPUID's HWmonitor, and I look at my temps. I'm so anal about my temps being too high, even though it really isn't too big of a deal, because they aren't that high in retrospect.
I experience the exact same shit.
I thought some of the earlier BIOS's/Mobo's didn't support flashing via USB?
True, but it would have to be pretty old (5+ years?)
why do you still have a floppy
The pc came from an auction 5 years ago, i've been upgrading it since to suit my needs.
I can't be bothered to remove the floppy drive

just unplug it from the psu
When I connect to a network in Windows 7, it gives me yellow triangles and no internet access, even when there's nothing wrong. :argh:
There's no iTunes port for Linux, when the OS X version would be an easy port.

My EVGA 680i still requires a cd or floppy, no USB option. it's only a 3 year old board. :/
GTA IV not starting up giving me an error saying "An application is requesting access to a Protected item" and no matter what i do it wont fuck off

No "wireless devices that don't use wires" is redundant.
