Build a computer that is better for 2 thirds of the price and tell him he was wrong.

The thing is, RAM is pretty cheap compared to the rest of the parts, and even though an increase from say 4GB RAM to 8GB RAM wouldn't cost more than about £60 for the company, they can charge at least £100 extra because people will see that it's got 'twice the memory!!!!!!'

RAM sells, they save money by having large amounts of low quality RAM and using sub par parts.
