Woo, 0.004 coins. Is there a point where it's recommended to "pay me"? Or can it just sit there forever?
Woo, 0.004 coins. Is there a point where it's recommended to "pay me"? Or can it just sit there forever?
It'll probably automatically pay out.
What you want to do is go to ati.amd.com, find the driver page for the 4850, go to individual downloads and nick the OpenCL driver.
i go to install it and it says another version is allready installed. now what?
He probably only needs the driver.
I downloaded the SDK and it worked for me. That's what the bitcoinpool forums told me to do anyways.
i might have installed the complete 4850 package allready... [editline]11th June 2011[/editline] mah automerge. im gonna install the SDK. cant hurt.
I downloaded the SDK and it worked for me. That's what the bitcoinpool forums told me to do anyways.
The SDK is filled with so much useless shit, and Catalyst 11.5 should have the 2.4 driver anyway.
i might have installed the complete 4850 package allready...
you should be able to select it from the drop down menu in GUIMiner. For me, it appears as Juniper

[editline]10th June 2011[/editline]
you should be able to select it from the drop down menu in GUIMiner. For me, it appears as Juniper
We're hiveminding.
you should be able to select it from the drop down menu in GUIMiner. For me, it appears as Juniper
doesnt show up in the new miner menu. im probably looking in the wrong area...
Probably. You'd actually have to take their wallet file to steal the coins. Alternatively, if you're using coin exchange then you could get them for fraud or breach of contract or something like that.
Since this is completely decentralized and anonymous, isn't fraud untraceable?
Where it says Device, does it have more than the AMD Phenom?
it also has a field that says ati rv770.
doesnt show up in the new miner menu. im probably looking in the wrong area...
go to the tab that has the server drop down menu, then go to devices. It should be on Juniper, which is your graphics card. At least it is for me.
-snip- oops
it also has a field that says ati rv770.
Use that!
Bitcoins? On Facepunch? You guys do realise that while this isn't really a "scam" per se, Bitcoins will NEVER be successful. The ONLY physical products you can buy with BitCoins right now are drugs from shady sites hidden in the Tor network. The ONLY interest in BitCoins right now is in speculative trading. An economic system built entirely on speculation is destined to fall like a house of cards-- see the 1929 stock market crash. The value of a single BitCoin has risen from $0.01USD/BitCoin to over $16USD/BitCoin in just six months, and from $16USD/Bitcoin to nearly $30USD/BitCoin in the past six days.

Hell, you can even buy eve PLEXes with BTC.
uuuh. the server drop down menu only has servers... my client...
I worded that stupidly, go to Device, and look for ati rv770
Since this is completely decentralized and anonymous, isn't fraud untraceable?
Exactly. The only way to trace fraud is by identifying the person behind the transaction. [editline]10th June 2011[/editline]
I worded that stupidly, go to Device, and look for ati rv770
The RV770 is his GPU.
Exactly. The only way to trace fraud is by identifying the person behind the transaction.
I need to teach myself how to scam people
Exactly. The only way to trace fraud is by identifying the person behind the transaction. [editline]10th June 2011[/editline] The RV770 is his GPU.
Yes, shouldn't he be selecting that since it's his GPU?
So from what I understand, which is very little. You run a program and it generates bitcoins at a slow rate and then you trade them with shitty Tor sites right? Why does this use so much of your computers power to generate them? Does it work like a botnet and the creator uses your computer while you're mining or whatever? Or is the program just made to be very intensive on your computer for no reason?
Use that!
i am using that. is slows down everything. and games dont work well at all (playing just cause 2 on high graphics. always runs fine before.)
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Trade There's an entire legit community based around it. Hell, you can even buy eve PLEXes with BTC.
Yeah, but most of those services are merely currency exchange services and digital products. I can mine @183Mhashes/sec with a 5770, but I don't particularly like the idea of having my GPU @100% load during teh summer.
im getting around 80 mhashes if that changes anything...
I need to teach myself how to scam people
Make a fake paypal account, load it with a burner gift card, find some people who accept paypal, do a chargeback once you get your cash.

It literally generates hashes and does trial and error until somebody somewhere finds the right value. It has a pretty big factor of luck, but it's generally worth it.

There are tons of people playing the market.
Make a fake paypal account, load it with a burner gift card, find some people who accept paypal, do a chargeback once you get your cash.
That's why most people don't deal with paypal.
