Remember the Steam key code I bought with the 0.25 Bitcoins? It was Humble Indie Bundle 2. Score!
Remember the Steam key code I bought with the 0.25 Bitcoins? It was Humble Indie Bundle 2. Score!
So you gave 3.75 bucks (at 15$=1BTC) for something someone probably bought at 0.01 bucks.
Remember the Steam key code I bought with the 0.25 Bitcoins? It was Humble Indie Bundle 2. Score!
They probably just bought like 100 keys at 1c each. :ninja:
Remember the Steam key code I bought with the 0.25 Bitcoins? It was Humble Indie Bundle 2. Score!
That costs a single cent. [editline]13th June 2011[/editline] :ninja::ninja:
So you gave 3.75 bucks (at 15$=1BTC) for something someone probably bought at 0.01 bucks.
look at my care level, i just used imaginary currency on steam games
look at my care level, i just used imaginary currency on steam games
But you just lost
look at my care level, i just used imaginary currency on steam games
It's not imaginary at all. It's not dollars, but it clearly has value, or you wouldn't have been able to purchase something with it.
finally bitclockers solved the block, now i get my whopping 0.034 BTC
They also did another one after that, Like within 15 minutes.
I got 0.05 after like 5 hours, worth it?
They also did another one after that, Like within 15 minutes.
i don't see it in the list, 235K was the big one
I don't really see the point in doing this since it's so hard to change them in to real money
Not really
Any reason why my clockspeed isn't going up? I was hovering around 76 Mhash/s, though it's not going past 42-45 now.
why do you have manual fan control on?
Any reason why my clockspeed isn't going up? I was hovering around 76 Mhash/s, though it's not going past 42-45 now.
Your card is stuck in power saving mode - try rebooting
why do you have manual fan control on?
I set it there so I could sleep, I leave hwmonitor open overnight and it doesn't go past 70 usually and dips down to 35 if I leave the window open. For now I left manual off... It seems to be working now.
Not really
It's not hard but it sure as hell is convoluted. The surefire way to do it at the moment is to sell your BTC in the market at Mt. Gox. Except Mt. Gox requires you to also sign up for something called Dwolla in order to put money into Mt. Gox (if you want to buy BTC) or to withdraw. Dwolla needs to be connected to a bank account, which takes several days to authenticate. Once you authenticate, you can sell your BTC on Mt. Gox. When someone buys at the market price you set, you get that value added to your account. You must then convert your earnings to Dwalla's at Mt. Gox. The process for the money you've made from selling BTC's to be converted into Dwalla's (that show up on your dwalla account) can take anywhere from a few hours to a day. Once you have the Dwallas you must then log into Dwalla to convert those Dwuallas into USD. Then, transfer the USD into your bank account which can take several days. The whole process is one giant butt-ugly convoluted mess involving a raping of middlemen. So much for the "peer to peer, direct individual" promise that Bitcoin was established under.
Uh BTC --> Mt Gox <--> Dwolla --> Bank Account You make it sound a lot worse than it is and you can lose a few cents per coin and sell everything instantly and you don't need to authenticate before selling and you also have the choice of using LibertyReserve there are also other exchanges that provide more varied payout options
Is a 5770 worth running to get Bitcoins?
You guys have it so complicated. How it is for me: MtGox <-> Bank account SEPA-zone master race.
Bought Mafia 2 for 5 bucks on Amazon. Mass Effect 2 was only 7, but I already have it.
Now I just have to think what to spend my money on when I get it. Not getting a month of gametime for WoW, that's for sure, boring as fuck nowadays. Not buying a month of EVE either, boring. Hmm. Or I could save the dosh.. Maybe if I generate bitcoins religiously over the summer, I'll be able to get a new GPU. So I can pop my 5770 into an old machine and have it mine 24/7.
you should pick up learning how to trade and enter the bitcoin market, the profits await you
You guys have it so complicated. How it is for me: MtGox <-> Bank account SEPA-zone master race.
Well I have USD which means I have to go through Dwolla and send my money to my dwolla account from my bank, which takes up to a week for dwolla to fully verify. Works the same for withdraws too. So I have money in MtGox, in order to withdraw I must send it to Dwolla first which takes several hours to a day to process. Once its in dwolla, I would use dwolla to send that money to my bank account, which takes up to a week as mentioned. Wish there was an easy way to just send money via credit/debit and withdraw directly too, instead of having to deal with middlemen services that delay things by a week or more in order to send money, and withdraw money.

Either that, or just withdraw your bitcoins from MTGox after doing some trading and use a giftcard service if you just want to make a lot of quick purchases.
How do I lower the activity of my GPU? Can I just tone it down so that it doesn't overheat.
How do I lower the activity of my GPU? Can I just tone it down so that it doesn't overheat.
Why do you think it's overheating? (Driver crashes??) The best thing to do would be to simply reapply the heatsink with new thermal paste, they often put WAY too much, too little, or it doesn't spread properly. [editline]13th June 2011[/editline] woah thought this was quick questions, well the answer still applies. What's the max temp it's been at? You should be underclocking the mem core to the minimum anyways, it lowers power consumption and heat.
Oh. Well I've got a 6950 with unlocked shaders to a 6970. The past few times I've tried mining I've left my computer on with the fan at 90%. The temp hovers around 77 C. I left for like 5 hours and came back to find my computer in sleep mode. Not sure if it overheated or not. I did not underclock however - I assume it's perfectly safe just to drag the slider all the way back
