Selling it to someone directly seems to be the only way to get it to paypal.
It's easy to get it to a bank though
Yeah I think im going with the bank way.
Anyways, when i try sending money to MtGox it tells me the transaction is over the size limit and there's a fee of 0.02, is this deducted form the amount i'm trying to send or from my wallet? Also how much is this limit and how can I get around it?
i wonder if this will ever drop below $10 per coin, because if it does (like $5) i'll buy $100 worth and hope shit goes up. worst case scenario i resell for $5 each and make my $100 back
I just started with this, my nVidia GTX460 is getting around 50Mhash/s.
Is there any way to improve that figure, or is that as high as it'll go?

Probably not, apparently Nvidia cards suck dick at this. My stock 580 only pushes 120Mhash/s

worst case scenario it drops further and you lose all of it
there is no win win in economics

That's like $500,000

Seeing that, should I use TrueCrypt for my wallet file?

Can't hurt, well so long as you don't forget the password. I don't get why you'd keep 25,000 BTC anyway, surely you'd sell them?

Sure, I only have like one Bitcoin... :v:
So how much longer is mining estimated to be profitable for?
Are we talking Years? Months? Days?
Before I go spend £150 on a new card :v:

Your asking lots of stuff that is answered in the OP and on practically every page since.

I just started and I only have around 70MHash/s on my 5770
How do I make it higher?
Your asking lots of stuff that is answered in the OP and on practically every page since.
Sorry, I did read the whole OP but there doesn't seem to be a prediction about when GPU mining will become obsolete as CPU mining did
now it's on 170

I average around 175 with my 5770
You are not going to get much higher without overclocking

According to the graph, early 2013 but I suppose it depends how many people get into it.
It won't really become obsolete it'll just decelerate gradually.

Mining at full speed on my 6970 seems to have a negative effect on the DisplayPort output - my DP-VGA attached monitor shimmers intermittently (like a water effect across the whole screen) when I run without any -s flag :ohdear:

Only getting 140 Mhash/s on my 5870, what gives?
Finally got my dwolla account set up.
Just sent $60 into it to play around with, too bad it's going to be another 3 days for that to authorize...
How powerful a rig would you need to fully utilize the power of a high-end card? I might have some older hardware i could use (with a 3.0 Ghz P4) in conjunction with a 58xx card.

yeah that's true, i'd just be out $100

If you invested in a mining card then at least you'd have a good card at the end of it

A PCI-E x16 slot and a powerful enough PSU.
That's about it, really.
Hell, you could run a card with an x1 slot too if you have a motherboard where the socket is open-ended or you chisel/etc. off the end.
Weird. My PC rebooted overnight, I should turn the overclock down a notch.
I\'m trying out BTC guild because it doesn\'t have any fees and is more powerful than Bitclockers.
Bitclockers has been working on a block for a while now.

So one could basically buy a Intel Atom powered mobo&cpu combo board that has a PCI-express slot and cram a Ati Radeon HD 6990 into the PCI-express slot and have a power effective grinder??
(including other necessary parts, such as RAM, PSU and so on)
